Transportation\n\nExponential Career Growth\n\nJob Profile Summary\nThe Senior Consultant, Tax Technology provides tax automation services to Fortune 1000 clients by performing detail requirements analysis, process design, installation and implementation of tax automation software, testing, and training; and developing client documentation.\nDuties and responsibilities, as they align to Ryan’s Key Results\nPeople:\nCreate a positive team experience.\nProvides guidance and assistance to other and subordinate team members.\nClient:\nRespond to client and internal stakeholder inquiries related to SAP Basis support and administration.\nAssist with creation of technical documentation and client deliverables.\nSupport managers in the execution of SAP technical project activities, including setup, testing, implementation support, and post-go-live support.\nCoordinate with infrastructure, application, and project teams to resolve issues and maintain system availability.\nValue:\nServe as a point of contact for SAP Basis incidents and ensure timely communication with management and stakeholders.\nMonitor SAP systems for availability, health, performance, and background job issues.\nAnalyse SAP environments, identify incompatibilities or shortcomings, and recommend improvements.\nSupport SAP Basis administration activities including transport management, OSS Note implementation, kernel updates, support packages, client administration, and system refresh/copy activities.\nSupport system patching, maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrade-related activities across SAP environments.\nMaintain technical and operational documentation.\nSupport secure technical connectivity across SAP systems, including HTTP/HTTPS, certificates, authentication, and encryption-related configurations.\nWork with infrastructure teams to support SAP application environments hosted on Linux and Windows servers.\nSupport related SAP technical systems such as SAP ECC, S/4HANA, SAP DRC, SAP BTP, Solution Manager, and ChaRM, where applicable.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nDetermines the documents business and system processes performed for tax determination.\nInstalls and configures tax automation software solutions, implements indirect tax automation software, and assists with day-to-day project management duties.\nCreates, executes, and documents testing scenarios.\nPerforms other duties as assigned.\nEducation:\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Accounting, or Accounting Information Systems.\nExperience:\nMandatory\nSAP Basis Administration (3 years):\n3 years of hands-on SAP Basis administration experience in enterprise SAP environments.\nExperience supporting SAP ECC Basis environments.\nExperience with SAP S/4HANA Basis administration and support.\nStrong experience in core Basis activities, including:system monitoring and troubleshooting\nperformance monitoring and tuning\nbackground job monitoring and management\ntransport management\nOSS Note implementation\nkernel and support package maintenance\nclient administration\nsystem refresh/copy support\n\nExperience with incident management and production support.\nStrong understanding of SAP landscape architecture and technical dependencies.\nExperience supporting SAP systems across Linux and Windows platforms.\nStrong understanding of HTTP/HTTPS and SAP connectivity fundamentals.\nKnowledge of SAP security and technical best practices, including certificates, authentication, encryption, and secure communication.\nStrong communication skills and ability to work effectively with global teams.\nSAP ABAP Development (1-2 years):\nABAP OO, ABAP Dictionary (DDIC), Reports, IDOCs, Enhancements, BADIs, BAPIs, RFCs, and ALV Reports.\nOData Services, CDS Views, and development using RAP (RESTful Application Programming) in Eclipse.\nExperience with SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform) and SAP Cloud Platform technologies.\nStrong understanding of XML/JSON, HTTP, REST web services, SQL, and general SAP database structure.\nFamiliarity with Object-Oriented design principles and modern integration patterns (REST APIs).\nNice to have:\nExperience with SAP Private Cloud.\nExposure to SAP Public Cloud.\nExperience supporting or administering:SAP GTS\nSAP DRC\nSAP BTP\nSAP Solution Manager\n\nExposure to SAP technical integration concepts such as IDocs.\nExperience with tax automation solutions such as Vertex, ONESOURCE Determination.\nExperience supporting upgrades, migrations, or environment build activities.\nSAP certification in Basis, S/4HANA, or related cloud/infrastructure technologies.\nComputer Skills:\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must have advanced proficiency in:\n SAP Technologies: ABAP, RAP, BTP, CDS Views, OData Services, and SAP configuration (SD, FI).\nIntegration and Cloud: REST APIs, XML/JSON, HTTP, SQL, XI/PI/PO, and SAP Cloud Platform.\n Development Tools: Eclipse, SAP GUI, and modern web technologies (UI5, HTML5, JavaScript, CSS).\nGeneral IT Skills: Microsoft® Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook, and Project.\n Additional Skills (Preferred): Experience with Vertex or other indirect tax automation software, Alteryx, and workflow development.\nCertificates and Licenses:\nValid driver’s license required.\nSupervisory Responsibilities:\nThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.\nWork Environment:\nStandard indoor working environment.\nOccasional long periods of sitting while working at computer.\nPosition requires regular interaction with employees at all levels of the Firm and interface with multiple external vendors and clients as
