We define ourselves through our superior execution on behalf of our clients, which has established us as a leader in the industry.\nPosition Summary\nThe Property and Casualty Underwriting Associate is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of existing policy information for renewals, communicating effectively with clients for information gathering, and supporting the underwriting process through precise documentation. The role conducts risk assessments and audits for insurance applications, calculates premium and generates reports. They ensure strict adherence to company policies, industry regulations, and compliance standards in all underwriting activities.What will your job entail?\nJob Responsibilities:Evaluates and maintains existing policy information to ensure data is current, accurate, and appropriately priced for renewal.\nResponds to client requests and questions, offering information and advice regarding the insurance products & underwriting appetite.\nCommunicates with clients to gather necessary information, resolves inquiries, and ensures a smooth underwriting process.\nPrepares and organizes documentation related to underwriting submissions and policy issuance.\nAssesses risks associated with individual insurance applications, considering both standard and substandard criteria.\nProvides support in premium calculations, ensuring accurate application of rates based on underwriting guidelines.\nBuilds and maintains reports on underwriting activities, key performance indicators, and relevant metrics.\nConducts internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information related to underwriting activities.\nEnsures adherence to company policies, guidelines, industry regulations, and compliance standards in underwriting activities.\nCollaborates with underwriting teams to relay information, coordinate tasks, and contribute to the overall underwriting process.\nServes as the key point of contact for customers and agents and delivers excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring a positive experience for them.\nWork Experience and Education:\nBachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Actuarial or Business Administration required. Any other related discipline or commensurate work experience considered.\nA minimum of 6 months of experience in Property and Casualty Underwriting.\nLicenses & Certifications:\nMust meet minimum requirements for state P&C and/or surplus line licenses.\n• Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) is a plus.\nRyan Specialty is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
