Are you a driven, ambitious professional ready to fast-track into a management role? The Ryder Rental Management Trainee program is an 18-24 month accelerated career development experience designed to build the next generation of Ryder leaders.

This program is fast-paced and touches every aspect of the business unit. You’ll receive hands-on training across Finance, Operations, Human Resources, and Sales & Marketing - gaining the full toolkit you need to step into a leadership role with confidence.

What You’ll Experience

Over 18-24 months, you’ll build expertise across every core area of the business:

• Finance - Understand the P&L drivers behind a high-performing rental operation

• Operations - Manage rental assets, vehicle PM standards, and day-to-day location performance

• Sales & Marketing - Drive revenue through inbound sales, outbound solicitation, and lead generation for rental, lease, and used vehicle sales

• Human Resources - Learn how to build, develop, and lead a team

• Customer Relationship Management - Resolve customer concerns and grow a loyal customer base

• Compliance & Regulatory - Ensure alignment with company, local, state, and federal requirements

Essential Functions

• Handle the sales process for inbound calls as well as outbound solicitation

• Maintain current and accurate data within the company’s marketing database

• Responsible for generating rental, lease, and used vehicle sales leads

• Manage all rental asset processes to include Vehicle PM and cleanliness standards

• Meet overall Ryder market share by successfully executing sales and marketing initiatives

• Maintain compliance with company, local, state, federal, and other regulatory agencies

• Reconcile all customer concerns, issues, and disputes to maintain ongoing relationships and grow the current customer base

Additional Responsibilities

• On a voluntary basis as well as based on scheduling, the Rental Management Trainee will be required to perform the role of On-Call Representative based on work schedules as determined by Supervisor

• Performs other duties as assigned

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• High energy, self-motivated, self-directed person who is able to focus on multiple projects and activities simultaneously and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

• Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors)

• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team

• Detail oriented with strong follow-up practices

• Possess a high degree of common sense and the aptitude to learn quickly

• Ability to relocate in the region/US at the conclusion of the training program

• Must be computer literate - intermediate required

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required business administration or similar related degree

• One (1) year or more customer service with issues resolution experience preferred

• Must be computer literate intermediate required

Compensation Information:

The compensation offered to acandidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience; education, including relevant degrees or certifications; work location; market data/ranges; internal equity; internal salary ranges; etc. The position may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus, commission, and/or long-term incentive plan based on the level and/or type.
