This is a hands-on role focused on building, evolving, and maintaining large-scale systems while driving technical decisions, improving engineering practices, and helping teams work more effectively.Basic Qualifications:\n10+ years of professional software engineering experience.\n\nStrong proficiency in Elixir and functional programming concepts.\n\nProven experience building and maintaining production applications with Elixir and Phoenix.\n\nExperience owning and evolving large systems spanning multiple services, repositories, and teams.\n\nStrong understanding of software architecture and experience driving technical decisions across teams.\n\nExperience with Phoenix LiveView is strongly preferred.\n\nStrong PostgreSQL knowledge, including query optimization and performance tuning.\n\nExperience building data ingestion pipelines or ETL processes, particularly from third-party data sources.\n\nExperience with event-driven architectures, message queues, and cross-service data consistency.\n\nStrong problem-solving and debugging skills, particularly with complex, numerical, or data-intensive systems.\n\nExperience working with Git, code reviews, automated testing, and collaborative development practices.\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence technical direction across teams.\n\nExperience working effectively in highly autonomous and primarily remote environments.\n\nWhat makes you stand out:\nExperience with AWS services such as SQS/SNS, S3, Athena, or Glue.\n\nExperience deploying and operating services on Kubernetes/EKS.\n\nExperience with event sourcing, CQRS, or schema-versioned events such as Protobuf or Avro.\n\nExperience building systems from scratch and later evolving or handing them off to other teams.\n\nA demonstrated track record of being a force multiplier, improving engineering productivity through mentoring, pairing, code reviews, tooling, or technical leadership.\n\nExperience leading through influence rather than formal authority.\n\nExperience diagnosing and resolving complex production issues in systems you did not originally build.\n\nKey Responsibilities:As a Staff Software Engineer, you will work across the platform and product ecosystem, helping ensure systems remain scalable, reliable, and easy for teams to evolve.
