A major part of the platform involves extracting geometry from documents, placing it at real-world coordinates, measuring it, and exporting it for use in the field.\nRequirements\n5+ years of experience building production software, with increasing ownership of architecture and technical decisions.\nStrong production experience with TypeScript and Node.js.\nHands-on experience working with maps, coordinates, geometry, or geospatial data in a real-world application.\nExperience with one or more of the following: GIS, GeoJSON, KML, routing, asset mapping, fleet tracking, logistics, agriculture, drones, or similar geospatial applications.\nExperience working with messy real-world data, including inconsistent formats, missing fields, and unreliable or incomplete sources.\nExperience building systems where incorrect outputs can have meaningful business consequences.\nStrong judgment around data quality, correctness, and when a system should explicitly indicate that an answer cannot be determined.\nStrong written and verbal English communication skills.\nNice to Have\nBackground in civil engineering, surveying, asphalt, construction estimating, or related fields.\nFamiliarity with construction plans, stationing, alignments, and pay items.\nExperience with hauling, logistics, routing, or haul-distance calculations.\nExperience with DOT bid documents.\nFamiliarity with tools such as Bluebeam, B2W, HeavyBid, or HardDollar.\nExperience with 3D geospatial data, including terrain and surface models, point clouds, cut/fill volumes, or similar applications.\nExperience with tools or libraries such as Turf.js, proj4js, PostGIS, or comparable geospatial technologies.What You'll OwnParts of the platform architecture, with increasing ownership as the team grows.\nThe map and geometry layer: extracting geometry from documents, placing it at real latitude and longitude, measuring it, and exporting it for field use.\nGeospatial distance, routing, and hauling-related functionality.\nProduction code and significant architectural decisions.\nCode quality through reviews, engineering standards, and CI.\nMonitoring, observability, and systems designed to fail safely when an output cannot be determined reliably.\nAbout RYZ Labs:\nRYZ Labs is a startup studio built in 2021 by two lifelong entrepreneurs.
