Other duties may be assigned.\nManages, coordinates and directs the transportation network within an assigned area of responsibility. \nSchedules drivers and assigns routes to maximize productivity and ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company rules. \nSupervises employees who make deliveries to and from specified locations. Ensures drivers comply with their essential duties and responsibilities.\nDevelops and maintains transportation and distribution procedures to maximize delivery efficiency. Selects appropriate delivery methods to minimize delivery costs and maximize customer satisfaction. \nFamiliar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.\nAssist in the identification and implementation of continuous improvement and customer satisfaction opportunities. \nMaintains a primary focus on teamwork, building strong working relationships and supporting an atmosphere of cooperation with coworkers at the Distribution Center, Division and corporate levels.\nCompetencies:\nCommunication\nCustomer Focus\nDecision Making/Judgment\nDelivers Results\nProductivity\nQuality\nTeamwork\nWork Environment/Safety\nSupervisory Responsibilities:\nDirectly supervises 4 to 12 delivery driver employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.\nQualifications:\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nMust possess a valid drivers’ license for use of CDL Trucks\nMust meet SPR’s Driving Standards as provided at time of interview and maintain those standards throughout employment.\nMust be able to safely drive product to customers on established routes, utilizing route numbers to identify correct customer (and able to operate a manual transmission vehicle.)\nMust be able to meet and fulfill all regulations and requirements for truck drivers as prescribed by the DOT. \nMust be functionally literate and capable of understanding and recognizing product numbers and line codes to insure proper placement and delivery of products for shipment, including identifying sequence of numbers and letters accurately and rapidly. Includes traffic, and road signage.\nEducation/Experience:\nBachelors degree or related field or equivalent education and/or experience required in position of at least 4 years.\nLanguage Ability:\nAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions. Ability to write legibly.\nMath Ability:\nAbility to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.\nReasoning Ability:\nAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
