This position requires someone who is able to work in a fast paced, demanding and pressurized environment. This role oversees preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities of Company infrastructure and facilities across our branches and company properties.\nResponsibilities will include, but are not limited to:\nDevelop, implement, and manage preventative maintenance programs for company facilities and infrastructure\nOversee maintenance of buildings, structural elements, electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, and other facility assets\nConduct regular inspections and condition assessments of company structures and infrastructure\nCoordinate and supervise contractors, service providers, and maintenance teams\nPrepare and maintain maintenance schedules\nManage stock, spares and material requirements internally and with suitable suppliers\nRespond to facility-related emergencies and coordinate corrective actions.\nMaintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and documentation.\nEnsuring compliance of timekeeping, productive output, discipline and work programs within the department\nEnsure compliance to Legal Requirements, Company and Health & Safety rules, policies and regulations\nLiaise with HR in terms of any concerns, issues or disciplinary management of staff\nAbide by the regulations as set out in the Occupational Health and Safety Act\nAny other tasks suited to this level of management\nQualifying Criteria\nMinimum Grade 12 education or equivalent\nDiploma in Facilities, Project Management, Building management or similar\nMinimum of 10 years working experience in facilities or infrastructure\nAtleast 5 years of proven management experience\nUnderstanding of building regulations, occupational health and safety standards, and compliance requirements\nExcellent planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills\nValid driver’s license\nComputer literate (MS Word, MS Excel)\nStrong administrative ability\nExperience working with an Electronic Maintenance system\nSound communication skills (understand, read and write English)\nMust be prepared to work overtime when required\nQualifying Attributes:\nMust be of sober habits\nHands on practical approach to the job\nHard working and self-motivated\nGood interpersonal and leadership skills\nTime and priority management and organizational skills\nDisplay a professional work approach\nLogical and detail orientated\nResult-driven: Excellent standards in execution\nCommitment to a strong business ethic and integrity\nExcellent communication skills on all levels\nAbility to lead by example - Clear leadership ability\nCritical thinking and conflict resolution ability\nOther Information:\nJob title: Facilities manager\nReporting to: Senior Engineering Manager and Divisional Directors of Engineering\nJob type: Permanent position\nBenefits include\n· Provident fund\n· Life cover at 4X annual salary\n· Funeral cover\n· Medical aid - Hospital Plan with Discovery Health\n· 15 x paid leave days per annum\n· Long service leave after five years of employment\nStandard hours\n07h30-17h00: Monday - Thursday\n07h30-16h00: Friday\nMay be required to work overtime as per operational requirements\nSalary\nWe offer a highly competitive package depending on the extent of the applicant’s qualifications and experience.\nApplications\nWe regret that it is not possible to contact all unsuccessful applicants.
