The Group has a vacancy for an analytical,\nhardworking and dynamic individual to join the Finance team as a Junior Cost Accountant. The\nsuccessful candidate will report directly to the Cost Accountant and be based at our Head Office in\nEpping, Cape Town.\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:\nMaintain an integrated costing system / report with specified primary and secondary cost\n\ncentres\n\nReview and maintain data accumulation systems and controls needed for the cost accounting\n\nsystem and reporting within an accounting framework on a monthly basis\n\nAnalysis of expenses and ensure allocation to correct primary and secondary cost centres\n\nReport on periodic variances and their causes, focusing in particular on spending variances\n\nProvide reports and explanations to line management\n\nReviewing overhead costs to ensure correct allocation and reporting\n\nProduce operational costing calculations - i.e. transport job costing and tender costing\n\nProduce profitability calculation for manufacturing divisions\n\nCapital project cost tracking\n\nQUALIFYING CRITERIA\nNational Diploma in Cost Accounting majoring in Costing\n\nPrevious experience in a Costing environment is essential\n\nKnowledge and/or experience working on AccPac, TM1 Cognos and Fraxion advantageous\n\nAdvanced computer literacy - MS Office, high proficiency in MS Excel\n\nManufacturing and/or Logistic background advantageous\n\nEmotionally matured and dynamic individual\n\nAbility to multi-task and pay attention to detail\n\nAbility to work well under pressure\n\nAbility to collaborate with a multi-department team\n\nMust have clear credit and criminal clearance\n\nQUALIFYING ATTRIBUTES\nGood communication skills\n\nMust be able to work with minimum supervision\n\nTrustworthy, Commitment to a strong business ethic and integrity\n\nThe ability to detect and solve problems\n\nOpen-minded and logical thinker\n\nSelf-motivated and results orientated\n\nMust be a team player\n\nTime management and organizational skills\n\nDisplay a professional work approach\n\nLogical and detail orientated\n\nExcellent standards of execution\n\nConfidentiality, tact and discretion essential\n\nAbility to meet deadlines and deliver results (time management)\n\nJob title:Junior Cost Accountant\nReporting to:Cost Accountant\nJob type:Permanent position\nBenefits include\nProvident fund\nMedical aid - Discovery hospital plan\nLife cover at 4x annual salary\nFuneral cover\n15 x paid leave days per annum\nLong service leave after five years of employment\nStandard hours07h30-17h00: Monday - Thursday07h30-16h00: Friday\nMay be required to work overtime as per operational requirements\nWe regret that it is not possible to contact all unsuccessful applicants.
