In this position, you will take ownership of antenna development from simulation and prototyping to testing and product integration.\nYour role\nAs an Antenna Engineer, you will design, simulate, prototype, and optimize antennas for demanding high-reliability applications. You will collaborate closely with system design, software, hardware, and testing teams to define requirements and develop effective antenna solutions.\nIn this role, you will use simulation tools to optimize antenna performance, validate designs through measurements, and develop functional prototypes that meet technical and environmental requirements. You will also contribute to ensuring that your designs are manufacturable and suitable for production.\nDepending on your expertise and interests, you will have an opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies while also engaging with practical radio technology, electronics, mechanics, and embedded software. The position offers involvement throughout the entire product development lifecycle, from concept development and design to testing and product realization.\nDocumentation is an essential part of designing high-reliability systems, and you will create and maintain technical documentation in both Finnish and English.\nThe role is primarily based at our office and laboratory facilities in Tampere, though occasional international travel may be required.\nWe value self-directed professionals who take ownership of their work, contribute new ideas, and thrive in an environment built on collaboration, openness, and mutual trust.\nYour profile\nTo succeed in this role, you have experience in antenna design, simulation, and performance optimization, along with a solid understanding of electromagnetic principles. You are comfortable working independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.\nRequirements\nExperience in antenna design and optimization using various simulation tools such as CST, HFSS, or similar\nStrong understanding of key antenna performance metrics, including gain, efficiency, return loss, radiation patterns, and bandwidth\nProficiency in using measurement equipment, such as signal generators, spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers\nAdvanced skills in MATLAB are highly valuable\nAn M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics, with a focus on Electromagnetics\nIn addition, the following experience would be considered an advantage:\nExperience in making design trade-offs and negotiating with internal stakeholders to prioritize key performance metrics\nKnowledge of different antenna types and the ability to identify performance limitations\nExperience with environmental testing and military equipment standards\nWe do not expect you to meet every preferred qualification listed above.
