This role offers the opportunity to develop your System Safety Engineer skills while supporting the delivery and sustainment of leading-edge defence capabilities.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDevelop and maintain system safety program plans, processes, and frameworks\nConduct hazard identification and risk analysis\nContribute to the development of Safety assessment reports, Safety case documentation.\nPerform safety analysis in support of design changes, engineering updates, system problem reports.\nEstablish and maintain safety requirements, ensuring traceability, verification, and implementation of mitigation controls.\nSupport broader systems engineering activities and apply engineering governance processes relevant to the safety-critical defence systems.\nContribute to the development and execution of verification and validation (V&V) activities.\n\nAbout you\n Your skills and experience will include:\nTertiary qualifications in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline\nDemonstrated experience in safety engineering across complex software-intensive systems\nStrong capability in: Hazard identification and risk assessment, Safety requirements development, Safety architecture and design, Safety verification and validation, and Safety case development.\nWorking knowledge of contemporary safety engineering standards and best practice, including MIL-STD-882\nExperience working within structured engineering lifecycle environments\nApplicants must be Australian citizens and hold or be able to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to baseline/NV1/NV2 level.
