We support our people with benefits that enhance wellbeing, flexibility and financial security, including:\nUp to 6 weeks leave\n14% employer superannuation contribution\nFree Income Protection Insurance \nFor further information about a career at Saab, visit the page adjacent: https://www.saab.com/markets/australia/careers/saab-life\nThe role\nLead the governance, control and integrity of information across complex Defence programs.\nWe are seeking an experienced Data Management Team Lead to lead a high-performing team responsible for the governance, control and delivery of critical engineering, project and corporate information across a portfolio of Defence programs.\nThis is a leadership opportunity for a senior Data Management professional who combines strong people leadership with deep expertise in information governance, document control, records management and secure data handling within a complex engineering environment.\nAbout the opportunity\nReporting to the Configuration Manager, you will lead the Data Management function, ensuring consistent, compliant and efficient delivery of Data Management services across the business.\nYou will work closely with Project Managers, Engineering Managers and key stakeholders to establish best-practice Data Management frameworks, drive continuous improvement initiatives and ensure critical information is managed securely throughout the project lifecycle.\nKey Responsibilities:\nLead, mentor and develop a team of Data Management professionals.\nOversee document control, records management, Safe Hand activities, configuration tracking and software release support.\nDrive the implementation and continuous improvement of Data Management frameworks, processes and governance.\nPartner with project and engineering teams to ensure compliant management, control and distribution of project information and deliverables.\nProvide subject matter expertise on information governance, security classifications, export controls and commercial-in-confidence information.\nDevelop and maintain Data Management plans, processes, procedures and work instructions.\nSupport business growth through resource planning, service delivery improvements and stakeholder engagement.\nChampion a culture of quality, collaboration and continuous improvement across the organisation.\nAbout you\nYou are a respected Data Management leader with the ability to influence stakeholders, improve processes and build high-performing teams. You understand the importance of information integrity, governance and compliance within complex Defence and engineering environments.\nYour skills and experience will include:\nExtensive experience in Data Management within Defence, engineering or other highly regulated industries.\nDemonstrated experience leading Data Management teams and delivering services across multiple projects.\nStrong knowledge of document control, records management, information governance and secure data handling practices.\nExperience managing classified, export-controlled, commercially sensitive and intellectual property-restricted information.\nExperience implementing Data Management frameworks, workflows and process improvements.\nStrong stakeholder engagement and customer service skills.\nExperience using enterprise information management and document control systems.\nExposure to IFS Applications or similar enterprise information management platforms will be highly regarded.\nThis is an opportunity to lead a critical business function that underpins the successful delivery of complex Defence capability. You'll play a key role in shaping Data Management strategy, developing team capability and ensuring the integrity and security of information across nationally significant programs.\nApplicants must be Australian citizens and hold or be able to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to baseline/NV1/NV2 level.
