It has major operations all over the world and is part of the domestic defence capability of several nations.\nThe Role:\nThis role will be part of our BlueBear Business in Bedfordshire.\nThis Electronics Manager role will assist in leading the electronics design and prototyping department, guiding overall design and supporting management of a team of electronic engineers.\nThis role is suited to a person with extensive experience in design management with a focus on electronic design, strong leadership capability, and knowledge of safety- and mission-critical development environments.\nKey Responsibilities:\nLeadership & Management:\nGuide, manage, and develop a delivery from a team of electronic engineers (10+ staff) across multiple programmes. \nAssist in defining team objectives and performance goals aligned with business needs. \nTechnical Leadership & Design Execution:\nOwn and drive the electronic hardware designs for specific projects, implementing full design lifecycle from requirements capture through to production release.\nLead detailed design activities for digital, mixed-signal, Application Processor and FPGA-based, and high-reliability systems.\nProvide expert review and approval of schematics, PCB layouts, component selection, and detailed design documentation. \nDesign Standardisation & Quality Governance:\nMaintain design assurance processes and verification traceability across safety-critical electronics developments. \nOversee configuration control, Verification and Validation activities \nProject & Stakeholder Coordination:\nWork cross-functionally with Systems Engineering, Software, Mechanical, Test, and Programme Management teams to ensure aligned delivery. \nSupport bid development, cost estimation, design planning, and reporting to internal and customer stakeholders. \nEnsure workloads, priorities, project risks, and dependencies are managed effectively to meet schedule commitments. \nQualifications and Skills:\nEssential:\n8+ years’ experience in electronics hardware design across digital and mixed signal systems, with some experience of managing related design projects.\nSignificant knowledge in detailed electronics hardware design. \nWiring & PCB rework experience\nDetailed understanding of the electronics manufacturing processes\nExcellent attention to detail.\nProcess driven, ability to read legislation and implement processes to ensure adherence.\nExperience managing 5+ complex projects/programmes at a time with many stakeholders.\nHighly organised and able to work multi projects in fast paced environment \nAdaptable personality with professional approach \nGood verbal and written communication skills \nExcellent organisation & time management/prioritisation skills \nConscientious, with a proactive work ethic \nDesirable:\nExperience of interfacing with subcontractors.\nExperience writing VHDL or Verilog. \nExperience writing embedded C and Python.\nSubject to UK MoD security clearance vetting to a minimum SC level.\nSaab UK Company Benefits:\n30 days annual leave\nWorkplace pension scheme with 8% company contribution\nPrivate medical insurance\nGroup income protection scheme\nDeath in service insurance\nUp to 5% share matching scheme\nCompany enhanced Maternity/Adoption & Paternity leave.\n+ Much more\nBy submitting an application to Saab UK you consent to undertaking workforce screening activities that may include but are not limited to: Baseline Personnel Security checks, National Security Vetting, reference checks, verification of working rights and in all circumstances preferred candidates will be placed through a security interview.","description_format":"text","description_chars":4624,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":8,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":["Annual leave","Health insurance"],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Combat Aircraft","Naval Systems","Missiles","C4ISR"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-19T15:34:54Z"}],"visa":[{"country":"GB","licensed_sponsor":true,"evidence":"Licensed UK visa sponsor (Skilled Worker, Senior or Specialist Worker)","filings_12m":null,"filings_prev_12m":null,"green_card_filings_12m":null,"median_offered_wage_usd":null,"route":"Skilled Worker;
