We support our people with benefits that enhance wellbeing, flexibility and financial security, including:\nUp to 6 weeks leave\n14% employer superannuation contribution\nFree Income Protection Insurance\nFor further information about a career at Saab, visit the page adjacent: https://www.saab.com/markets/australia/careers/saab-life\nThe role\nAs a Field Service Representative (FSR), you'll play a key role in supporting the Royal Australian Navy's combat systems capability.\nWorking closely with ship crews and waterfront operations, you will provide frontline technical support for Saab combat system products, including helpdesk services, urgent defect investigations, troubleshooting, and system maintenance.\nYou'll also contribute to major build and upgrade activities, including First of Class (FOC) installations and testing, helping to ensure critical Defence capabilities remain operational and mission ready.\nFurther, the successful candidate will:\nProvide frontline technical support for Saab combat systems across Royal Australian Navy platforms and Land Based Test Sites.\nInvestigate and resolve Helpdesk and Urgent Defect (URDEF) issues, delivering both onsite and remote support to customers.\nCollaborate with engineering, integration, and delivery teams to identify and implement solutions to complex technical challenges.\nSupport First of Class (FOC) installation, commissioning, and acceptance trial activities, including Harbour and Sea Acceptance Trials.\nWork closely with cross-functional teams to deliver system upgrades, enhancements, and capability improvements.\nContribute to planned and corrective maintenance activities, including system health checks, condition assessments, and technical troubleshooting.\nBuild strong relationships with ship crews and waterfront personnel, acting as a trusted technical advisor and customer interface.\nPlay a key role in ensuring Defence systems remain operational, reliable, and mission ready.\nFlexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home / office and a 9-day fortnight will be considered for this role.\nAbout you\nYour skills and experience will include:\nExperience supporting complex Defence or naval systems and enjoy solving technical challenges in operational environments\nExperience working with RAN assets or similar complex Defence platforms.\nKnowledge of combat systems and associated subsystems, including radars, sensors, navigation aids, and weapons systems.\nExperience with maintenance planning and execution, including ITPs, JSEAPs, and Standard Activities.\nThe ability to review and validate technical documentation and test outcomes.\nAbility to travel in support of critical customer and project requirements.\nAQF Level 3 - Certificate III in Engineering, Electrical or Electronic Trade\nApplicants must be Australian citizens and hold or be able to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV2 level.
