We support our people with benefits that enhance wellbeing, flexibility and financial security, including:\nUp to 6 weeks leave\n14% employer superannuation contribution\nFree Income Protection Insurance \nFor further information about a career at Saab, visit the page adjacent: https://www.saab.com/markets/australia/careers/saab-life\nThe role\nDrive the security of Australia's most critical Defence and national security capabilities.\nWe are seeking an experienced Senior Cyber Security Engineer to join our Cyber Security team, delivering trusted security advice, engineering expertise and risk management services across complex Defence, government and critical infrastructure environments.\nThis is an opportunity for a seasoned cyber security professional to lead security engagements, influence strategic outcomes and work with customers to design, secure and assure mission-critical systems across the full system lifecycle.\nAbout the opportunity\nAs a Senior Cyber Security Engineer, you will be a trusted advisor to customers and internal stakeholders, providing technical leadership across cyber security architecture, governance, risk, compliance and assurance activities.\nYou will lead security engagements from concept through to accreditation, helping customers navigate complex regulatory requirements while strengthening their security posture.\nKey Responsibilities:\nLeading the delivery of cyber security consulting, engineering and advisory services across Defence and government projects.\nDefining security requirements, architectures and secure system designs across complex ICT and operational technology environments.\nConducting security risk assessments, gap analyses and security maturity reviews.\nDeveloping and implementing Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) aligned with ISO 27001 and industry best practice.\nAuthoring security documentation required to achieve system accreditation and Authority to Operate (ATO).\nProviding security architecture, design assurance and implementation guidance across cloud environments, including AWS and Azure.\nSupporting governance, risk and compliance (GRC) activities aligned with the ISM, PSPF and Defence security frameworks.\nSupporting business growth through customer engagement, proposal development and tender responses.\nBuilding strong relationships with clients, industry partners and key stakeholders.\n\nAbout you\nYou are a highly capable cyber security professional with a strong consulting mindset, technical depth and the ability to engage confidently with customers, engineers and senior decisionmakers.\nYou'll Bring\nExtensive experience across the full cyber security engineering lifecycle, including requirements definition, architecture, design, implementation and assurance.\nStrong experience delivering cyber security solutions within Defence, government or other highly regulated environments.\nDeep knowledge of the Information Security Manual (ISM), Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and ISO 27001.\nExperience developing accreditation artefacts and supporting assessment and authorisation activities.\nStrong expertise in cloud security architecture and assurance across AWS and/or Azure environments.\nExperience conducting security risk assessments, audits and assurance activities, including IRAP-aligned assessments.\nExcellent stakeholder engagement, consulting and communication skills.\nDesirable Certifications\nOne or more of the following industry certifications will be highly regarded:\nCISSP\nCISM\nCISA\nCRISC\nISO 27001 Lead Implementer or Lead Auditor\nQualifications\nDegree qualification in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics or a related Engineering discipline.\nEligible for registration as a Professional Engineer in Australia.\nYou'll work on complex and meaningful projects that contribute to Australia's Defence and national security capability while collaborating with a highly regarded team of cyber security professionals. This role offers the opportunity to influence customer outcomes, shape security strategy and work across some of the most challenging security environments in the country.\nApplicants must be Australian citizens and hold or be able to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to baseline/NV1/NV2 level.
