You will be working alongside our System Engineering Team and other Software Engineers as they work toward improving tools that are used within the FAA. We are looking for a Software Engineer with an interest in all aspects of the software development lifecycle.\nCompensation Range: $92,200 - $115,300\nThe compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.\nSkills and Experience:\nEducation/Experience:\nBachelor’s Degree (or higher) in computer science, software engineering or related discipline\n\n3+ years of related experience required\n\nRequired Skills:\nStrong Java programming skills\n\nRelational database experience, preferably PostgreSQL\n\nStrong LINUX environment skills including command line and scripting tools\n\nObject Oriented Analysis and Design skills\n\nExperience with Integrated Development Environments (e.g. Eclipse, IntelliJ)\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\n\nMust be able to work in a dynamic team environment.\n\nAbiltiy to travel (\n\nDesired Skills:\nExperience with unit test frameworks (e.g. Junit, GTest, JTest)\n\nExperience with software design patterns\n\nExperience using UML\n\nExperience with automated build systems (e.g. Maven, Bamboo, Gradle)\n\nAviation and Defense systems background/domain interest\n\nExperience with Artificial Intelligence and AI-Assisted Development (Generative AI, LLMs, AI coding assistants, RAG, AI agents, prompt engineering, and AI MCP servers)\n\nExperience with Ansible Automation and authoring playbooks and roles for installing, maintaining, or upgrading platforms\n\nCitizenship Requirements:\nMust be a U.S. citizen, Permanent Resident (green card holder), or protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).\nDrug-Free Workplaces:\nSaab is a federal government contractor and adheres to policies and programs necessary for sustaining drug-free workplaces.
