In this role, you will work closely with engineering teams and global suppliers to ensure access to cutting-edge technologies in a fast-evolving and strategically important environment.\nYou will be responsible for sourcing within advanced electronics categories. Previous experience in the relevant categories is beneficial; however, we also welcome sourcing professionals with experience in other complex technical categories and an interest in developing their expertise further.\nAs part of the Sourcing and Production team, you will manage relationships with current and potential suppliers and work closely with stakeholders across engineering, projects, production, quality and supply chain. Your work will help ensure an efficient, resilient and uninterrupted supply chain that meets project and production needs.\nThe role includes occasional domestic and international travel to supplier sites, Saab locations and industry events, typically accounting for approximately 10-20% of working time.\nThe role operates in a challenging and complex environment, where Saab continuously pushes the boundaries of what is technically possible. Success in this role requires strong communication and planning skills, a commercial and analytical mindset, and a proactive approach to supplier management.\nKey Responsibilities\nTake commercial responsibility for assigned sourcing categories supporting projects and production throughout the product lifecycle.\nContinuously assess the competitiveness, capability, capacity and risk profile of the supplier portfolio.\nDevelop and maintain long-term supplier relationships, in close co-operation with internal stakeholders.\nLead sourcing activities, including RFQs, quotation evaluation, commercial negotiations and supplier agreement management.\nMonitor market trends, component availability, lead times, pricing and obsolescence risks within the assigned categories.\nIdentify and drive opportunities for cost efficiency, supplier development and supply-chain resilience.\nEnsure compliance with Saab’s sourcing strategy, policies, procedures and applicable requirements.\nYour profile\nTo thrive in this role, you are commercially minded, structured and customer-oriented. You communicate confidently with different stakeholders and are comfortable working independently while contributing actively to a cross-functional team.\nYou have an analytical approach and the ability to manage several priorities in a fast-paced and technically demanding environment. You are proactive in engaging with suppliers and able to take initiative when identifying supply-chain risks, commercial opportunities or improvement needs.\nRequired skills\nUniversity degree in Engineering, Economics, Supply Chain Management or a related field; alternatively, equivalent relevant work experience\nExperience in strategic sourcing, procurement or supplier management\nStrong negotiation, communication and stakeholder-management skills\nExcellent written and spoken Finnish and English\nExperience in analysing sourcing, supplier or commercial data using Excel or similar tools\nWe also appreciate\nExperience of sourcing technically demanding electronic components, modules or related products, such as FPGAs, RF components, RF modules or GNSS/INS modules\nUnderstanding of the electronics-component market, including availability challenges, long lead times, lifecycle management and obsolescence\nExperience of working with ERP systems, for example IFS\nExperience in utilizing AI-powered tools to improve efficiency, data analysis or sourcing processes\nExperience in the electronics, high-technology, aerospace or defence industry\nTechnical understanding of electronics, RF technologies or embedded systems\nWe do not expect you to meet every preferred qualification listed above.
