We support our people with benefits that enhance wellbeing, flexibility and financial security, including:\nUp to 6 weeks leave\n14% employer superannuation contribution\nFree Income Protection Insurance\nFor further information about a career at Saab, visit the page adjacent: https://www.saab.com/markets/australia/careers/saab-life\nThe role\nThe Project Manager leads in-service support and engineering change projects across our Engineering Sustainment Team, ensuring successful delivery of customer outcomes across Combat Management Systems on in-service Naval surface vessels.\nResponsible for managing project scope, schedule, cost, quality and customer outcomes, you will drive the delivery of engineering change projects in line with contractual requirements and project directives whilst maintaining strong stakeholder engagement throughout the project lifecycle.\nFurther, the successful candidate will:\nLead the delivery of engineering change, capability enhancements, obsolescence remediation and defect resolution activities.\nManage project scope, schedule, budget, quality and governance activities to achieve agreed project outcomes.\nProvide direction and support to the Engineering Sustainment Team to ensure successful project execution.\nDevelop and implement in-service support project strategies that deliver contractual obligations and maximise business outcomes.\nPrepare, manage, and maintain project plans, budgets, forecasts, and schedules to achieve key milestones and objectives.\nIdentify, assess, and manage project risks, issues, and opportunities.\nLead project reviews and present progress updates to customers, steering committees, and senior stakeholders.\nManage contract variations, change requests, and evolving project scope.\nDevelop a strong understanding of the solution, its capabilities, and its operational application.\nBuild and maintain effective relationships with Defence customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.\nFlexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home / office, 9-day fortnight and part time (0.8 FTE minimum) will be considered for this role.\nAbout you\nYour skills and experience will include:\nTertiary qualifications in Science, Engineering, Business, related discipline or equivalent experience.\nDemonstrated experience in project management and the delivery of sustainment projects, ideally in a Naval or Defence environment.\nStrong understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and best practices.\nExperience influencing teams and driving successful project outcomes.\nStrong knowledge of engineering change management, in-service support and project delivery frameworks.\nProven ability to build collaboration, foster teamwork, and engage effectively with stakeholders.\nMeeting the requirements of Australian Institute of Project Management CPPM accreditation or similar.\nApplicants must be Australian citizens and hold or be able to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1 level.
