It has major operations all over the world and is part of the domestic defence capability of several nations.\nThe Role:\nThis role is part of our Sensor Systems Business Unit. Saab is expanding in the UK and we are now seeking a talented and highly motivated Systems Engineer to support the growth of our radar and sensors at our Fareham, Hampshire campus.\nAs a Systems Engineer in Sensor Systems, you will predominantly work with the Giraffe 1X radar, the newest radar in Saab’s portfolio; there is a regular capability update cycle and an established production line, and you will be investigating new areas for product growth and enhancement. You will also support wider innovation across Saab UK.\nKey Responsibilities:\nIn role, you will be responsible for various activities across the product lifecycleincluding:\nSupport to bid activities and development of customer demonstrations.\nRequirements derivation and management\nRadar performance analysis and algorithm development.\nSystem and sub-system design.\nSystem Engineering lifecycle management.\nAbility to undertake technical leadership and maintain close working relationships with engineering functions. \nRequired Skills\nHold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field. \nExperience of working in a recognised industry standard requirements management tool. \nFamiliar with principles of ISO 15288:2023, and with product road mapping and lifecycle techniques.\nUnderstanding the interaction between system requirements, and hardware and software implementation. \nYou are a great technical communicator that easily creates and maintains professional relationships and instil trust.\nAbility to conduct technical analysis and assessments with attention to detail. \nYou must hold UK or Swedish citizenship.\nA willingness to travel within the UK and overseas. \nDesired skills\nThree or more years’ of demonstratable experience of working with radar, communications or EW systems.\nExperience with MATLAB, ideally with recorded radar data, ideally with an ability to perform system level modelling, simulation and analysis to evaluate system designs against requirements.\nAs a National Security Vetting clearance is required for this role, applicants will be required to hold National Security Vetting clearance to SC level or have the ability to gain it.\nBy submitting an application to Saab UK you consent to undertaking workforce screening activities that may include but are not limited to: Baseline Personnel Security checks, National Security Vetting, reference checks, verification of working rights and in all circumstances preferred candidates will be placed through a security interview.","description_format":"text","description_chars":3691,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":3,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"bachelor","optional":false},"security_clearance":false,"languages":[{"language":"Swedish","level":"All levels","optional":false}]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Combat Aircraft","Naval Systems","Missiles","C4ISR"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-20T02:20:57Z"}],"visa":[{"country":"GB","licensed_sponsor":true,"evidence":"Licensed UK visa sponsor (Skilled Worker, Senior or Specialist Worker)","filings_12m":null,"filings_prev_12m":null,"green_card_filings_12m":null,"median_offered_wage_usd":null,"route":"Skilled Worker;
