Saalex offers competitive compensation, career development, flexible work schedules and excellent benefits.\nPosition Type: Contingent on Contract Award.\nSalary: $115k-$160k (depending on experience)\nThe Database Administrator III supports the Navy by designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise database systems supporting global Live Virtual Constructive (LVC) environments. This role focuses on database architecture, performance optimization, security, and high availability across mission-critical systems.\nEssential Functions:\nDesign, implement, and maintain enterprise database systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) in support of NETTN operations. \nOptimize database performance through tuning, indexing strategies, and query optimization. \nImplement and maintain database security controls, including encryption, access controls, and auditing in accordance with RMF and STIG requirements. \nManage database backup, recovery, replication, and high availability solutions. \nSupport database integration with enterprise applications and systems. \nPerform capacity planning, monitoring, and troubleshooting of database environments.\nEnsure compliance with DoD and Navy cybersecurity policies and database STIGs.\nSupport system accreditation (ATO) activities including documentation and remediation. \nOther duties as assigned or required.\nRequirements\nRequired:\n5-7 years of experience in database administration, engineering, or related field.\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).\nHands-on experience administering enterprise databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL). \nExperience with database performance tuning, backup/recovery, and high availability solutions. \nKnowledge of database security practices, RMF, STIGs, and DoD cybersecurity requirements. \nRelevant certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator, or equivalent). \nDesired:\nExperience supporting DoD or Navy programs and classified environments. \nExperience with cloud-based database platforms (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL). \nFamiliarity with automation and scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python, SQL scripting). \nExperience with data replication, clustering, and disaster recovery architectures.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to manage multiple database environments and priorities. \nExcellent communication and documentation skills. \nSecurity Clearance:\nMust be eligible to obtain a Secret, Top Secret, or TS/SCI clearance. Active clearances preferred.
