The selected candidate will independently perform complex technical assignments supporting the design, deployment, operation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and optimization of network systems. This position requires hands-on experience with Cisco networking equipment, IP camera systems, video transport technologies, and DoD cybersecurity compliance requirements.\nEssential Functions:\nNetwork Operations & Design: Assist in the design, deployment, and optimization of network infrastructure. Configure and manage routing and switching equipment, primarily Cisco routers and switches.\nTroubleshooting: Proactively identify, isolate, and resolve complex network connectivity, routing, switching, and communications issues in both garrison and field environments.\nCamera System Integration: Install, configure, and troubleshoot IP cameras and associated video streaming network infrastructure. Support H.264 and H.265 video transport technologies.\nSecurity Compliance: Ensure network devices and configurations adhere to DISA STIG requirements and Department of Defense security mandates.\nField Support: Travel to test ranges to install equipment, conduct site surveys, and provide hands-on technical support during testing and operations.\nProvide technical guidance, documentation support, and coordination with engineers, technicians, and government stakeholders.\nOther duties as assigned or required.\nRequirements\nRequired:\nDemonstrated networking expertise with routing, switching, TCP/IP, VLANs, and Cisco infrastructure.\nWorking knowledge of IP camera systems, video transport, and H.264/H.265 encoding and decoding protocols.\nExperience implementing and auditing DISA STIG requirements and maintaining secure network boundaries.\nUnderstanding of network packets, firewalls, ACLs, and cybersecurity best practices.\nStrong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to independently resolve complex network and hardware issues.\nFamiliarity with Windows operating systems and proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.\nWillingness and physical ability to travel to and work at field ranges as required.\nAA/AS degree in Information Technology, Networking, Electronics, Engineering Technology, or related field; or equivalent technical training. Minimum of 8 years of relevant network engineering technician experience. In lieu of education, 10 years of directly related experience may be substituted.\nDesired:\nCCNA or higher certification.\nCompTIA Security+.\nNavy or DoD test and evaluation experience.\nNetwork monitoring and video distribution experience.\nEducation:\nAA/AS degree in Information Technology, Networking, Electronics, Engineering Technology, or related field; or equivalent technical training. Minimum of 8 years of relevant network engineering technician experience. In lieu of education, 10 years of directly related experience may be substituted.\nSecurity Clearance:\nActive Secret Clearance preferred. Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
