Electronics Test Engineering Intern

Position Summary:

The successful applicant will be responsible fortesting and test support of a variety of visible and infrared focal plane arrays.

Key Responsibilities*:

• Assist in the development, setup, and validation of electrical and optical test systems and procedures.
• Perform electrical and optical testing of semiconductor wafers, detectors, arrays, and focal plane array (FPA) assemblies under the guidance of engineering staff.
• Support wafer probing and electrical characterization of integrated circuits and semiconductor devices.
• Collect, organize, and analyze test data to evaluate device performance and identify trends or anomalies.
• Assist in the development and use of measurement systems, test procedures, and software tools.
• Work closely with engineers and technical staff to conduct experiments, troubleshoot test issues, and document results.
• Follow established test procedures, work instructions, and schedules while maintaining accurate test records.
• Collaborate effectively with team members and communicate technical findings.
• Follow laboratory safety procedures, including cleanroom protocols, electrostatic discharge (ESD) precautions, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Support compliance with Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and procedures.

Desired Qualifications*:

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
• Basic understanding of electrical circuits, electronic components, and measurement principles.
• Familiarity with electronic test equipment such as power supplies, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and source meters.
• Basic programming experience in one or more languages such as Python, C#, C++, MATLAB, or Java.
• Exposure to test automation or data acquisition software such as LabVIEW or MATLAB is a plus.
• Basic ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
• Familiarity with semiconductor devices, imaging sensors, or integrated circuits is a plus.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel for data analysis and charting.
• Interest in hands-on laboratory work, electronic testing, and troubleshooting.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and willingness to learn.
• Good written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document technical activities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with engineers and other technical staff.
• Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working in a laboratory environment.

• Prior laboratory or cleanroom experience is beneficial but not required.
