Are you ready to join a team that dreams as big as you do?\nThekey purpose of the Distribution Controller will be to be responsible for managing distribution performance and activities in order to surpass delivery challenges and meet customer requirements whilst ensuring optimal utilization of company resources.\nKey roles and responsibilities:\nLead departmental DPO (Distribution Process Optimization) implementation\nLead departmental project and negotiate contractor cost to the best economical price\nReview department machine and man resources\nManage own and team development and performance\nLead your team and prepare a strategic plan for the financial year with insights for inclusion in the Depot business plan\nReview master data\nBusiness descriptions - Process mapping - Service level management - Routing \nPlanning SLA’s - High volume etc\nDevelop departmental annual budget (Fixed and variables) and manage cost throughout the year\nSet, cascade team & individual goals\nDevelop peak sizing and planning for all critical periods.\nManage customer and driver master data\nConduct bi-annual customer service evaluation and analyses customer feedback with actions\nPlan and manage trade visits and drive compliance\nManage full beer return process\nSafety monitoring and critical behaviour enforcement\nManage 3PL contractors and drive performance improvement\nManage supply chain transfers and ensure adherence to plan\nReview all SLA and attend SLA meeting to action noncompliance with all stakeholders\nLead departmental weekly performance meeting addressing previous week trends and proffering sustainable plan for the new week\nBeer age issues taken up with sales in an action plan\nPrepare and analyze contractor payment\nManage departmental cost to achieve budget\nBusiness plan is developed and aligned to the sales and distribution strategy\nDistribution team goals are supportive of depot business plan\nDelivery fleet size and mix calculated to ensure optimum cost and customer service effectiveness and delivery within the distribution area\nFleet utilization is optimized through the effective use of own vs contracted transport and effective route planning\nVehicle contingency plans exist for the replacement of contracted vehicles and drivers\nDelivery fleet and drivers consistently comply with the statutory requirements\nMaintain Fleet\nInterpret and implement delivery schedules\nAssure product quality\nAnalyze and respond to distribution performance measures\nTranslate business strategies\nEnsure optimal asset utilization\nManager distribution key performance areas\nOptimize marketplace competitiveness\nLeverage information systems\nManage budget process\nControl departmental costs\nManage CAPIN budget process\nEnsure a healthy industrial relations climate\nManage and apply personnel processes\nManage own performance\nManage performance of direct reports\nCommunicate effectively in the workplace\nKey Attributes and Competencies:\nStrong and assertive\nCompliance driven\nCreativity\nStrong work ethic: Setting and achieving goals\nDependable: Consistently following through\nPositive attitude: Creating a good environment.\nSelf-motivated: Working effectively with little direct\nComputer Literate\nMS Office proficiency\nMinimum Requirements:\nRelevant 3-year tertiary degree/diploma, preferably in Supply Chain and or Logistics\n5 Years’ experience in logistics and supply chain management\nAdditional information:\n Band: VII\nSAB is an equal opportunity employer, and all appointments will be made in line with SAB employment equity plan and talent requirements.
