Are you ready to join a team that dreams as big as you do?\nThe Key Purpose of this role is to control the irrigation process according to agreed standards and carry out various hop farming activities, as well as maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.\nKey Roles and Responsibilities:\n1. Health, Safety and Environment\nComply with safe, health and environmental procedures and legislation. \nMaintain safety and 5S implementation, execution and ownership of area\nIdentification of unsafe practices through SIO's. \nSafety inspections conducted. \nSafe maintenance practices audited. \nAdherence to PPE policies. \nSAM and LOTOTO procedures practised. \nAdhering and Leading according to AB Inbev Policy in terms of Safety, Health and Environmental issues\nImplementation, execution and audits of VPO\n2. Maintain and Repair Plant and Associated Devices\nLocate equipment, spares and relevant documentation and or systems. \nPlan and prepare the job.\nCarry out basic and routine repairs and maintenance. Escalate major repairs and maintenance accordingly. \nEnsure correct usage, maintenance and storage of tools and equipment.\n3. General Hop Farm Tasks\nAll tasks related to the growing of hops\nPerform all activities related to hop harvesting.\nCarry out any other reasonable tasks as instructed by the Farm Manager.\n4. Problem-Solving\nApply problem solving and decision making techniques and principles. (i.e. Implementation, execution and documentation of 5 Why). \nEffective PI and KPI reporting. \nSIC management and applicable problem solving techniques applied.\n5. Co-ordinate Seasonal Workers\nOversee seasonal workers throughout the year to ensure the irrigation system runs efficiently in the field and that they adhere to the AB Inbev Safety Policies and Procedures. \nEnsure that seasonal workers adhere to the AB Inbev Safety Policies and Procedures\n6. Irrigation\nTo attend to the day-to-day irrigation of the hop fields as per instructions to ensure that water is efficiently managed\nResponsible for the entire irrigation process which occurs from the extracting of water from the dam to the imitters in the hop fields\nOperate irrigation controllers as per instructions\nSelect or irrigate plots as per instruction and according to irrigation probe readings.\nEnsure efficiency of irrigation during cycles.\nRepair below and above ground pipes and valves. \nOperate and utilise fertigation systems on drip irrigation camps.\nAny other reasonable task related to the irrigation of hop fields.\nMinimum Requirements\nNumeracy and literacy - Grade 12 will be ideal\nLicense to drive a tractor\n1 - 2 years' farming work experience.\n1 - 2 years in operating farm machinery.\n2 years' operating irrigation systems\nBehavioural Competencies\nSupervision skills. \nMental alertness and problem solving skills.\nConceptual skills. \nSubject matter expert.\nAdditional Information:\n Band: XII\nAb InBev is an equal opportunity employer, and all appointments will be made in line with Ab InBev employment equity plan and talent requirements.
