This role will work directly with employees, supervisors, contractors, and leadership to strengthen SAC’s safety culture, identify and eliminate hazards, and ensure work is performed safely.\nA key near-term responsibility will be supporting the safe, phased relocation of employees, production equipment, materials, and operations from Clearfield to West Ogden. SAC’s move includes stainless steel, carbon steel, structural, and office operations.\nAt SAC, our priorities are Safety, Quality, and Delivery, in that order. We expect employees to speak up, look out for one another, and stop work when something is unsafe.\nKey Responsibilities\nMaintain a visible safety presence at both Clearfield and West Ogden.\nConduct routine shop, yard, warehouse, and facility safety inspections and drive corrective actions to completion.\nCoach employees and supervisors on safe work practices, PPE, hazard recognition, and stop-work expectations.\nSupport safety training, toolbox talks, new-hire orientation, incident investigations, and near-miss reporting.\nSupport compliance with applicable OSHA requirements and SAC safety programs.\nParticipate in planning and executing the phased Clearfield-to-West Ogden relocation.\nCoordinate safety requirements with movers, riggers, contractors, electricians, equipment vendors, and SAC personnel.\nMonitor higher-risk activities including rigging, hoisting, equipment moves, forklifts, material handling, machinery installation, and commissioning.\nHelp establish safe pedestrian, vehicle, forklift, and material-flow patterns at West Ogden.\nConduct safety readiness reviews before relocated operations begin production.\nIdentify hazards created by temporary or changing conditions during the move and ensure they are corrected promptly.\nQualifications\n3+ years of safety experience in manufacturing, fabrication, construction, or industrial operations.\nWorking knowledge of OSHA general-industry requirements.\nExperience conducting inspections, hazard assessments, and incident investigations.\nComfortable working around welding, fabrication equipment, forklifts, cranes, and material-handling operations.\nStrong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.\nWillingness and confidence to stop unsafe work when necessary.\nAbility to regularly work at both the Clearfield and West Ogden facilities.\nPreferred Experience\nMetal fabrication, welding, piping, structural steel, or heavy manufacturing.\nFacility moves, equipment relocation, rigging, or manufacturing expansions.\nCrane, hoist, forklift, and material-handling safety.\nOSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, ASP, CSP, CHST, or similar safety credentials.\nWhat We’re Looking For\nWe want someone who believes strong safety programs are built with employees, not imposed on them.
