The position will initially focus on Primary Distribution, coordinating stock movements from the Distribution Centre to SAC branches. Responsibilities will include transport coordination, provider management, delivery monitoring, and cost control.\n\n As the role develops, responsibilities may expand to include Inbound Logistics (international/local supplier-to-warehouse movements) and Secondary Distribution (branch-to-customer deliveries).\n\nDuties & Responsibilities\n\n Transport Coordination & Route Planning\n\n Coordinate daily collections, deliveries, IBTs, returns and ad-hoc transport requirements across warehouses, branches, and service providers.\n\n Monitor vehicle movements, tracking, delivery schedules, and ETAs, proactively addressing delays and delivery issues.\n\n Optimise routes, vehicle utilisation, and transport capacity to improve efficiency and reduce costs.\n\n Transport Provider Management & Operational Support\n\n Act as the primary operational contact between transport providers, warehouses, and branches.\n\n Monitor provider performance, service levels, and operational requirements.\n\n Request and compare transport quotations and assist with onboarding new providers, branches, and routes.\n\n Support Distribution Centre dispatch operations, with potential future involvement in Inbound Logistics and Secondary Distribution as the role develops.\n\n Issue Resolution & Administration\n\n Investigate, resolve, and escalate transport-related incidents, service failures, and complaints.\n\n Coordinate damage claims, missing goods and supporting documentation.\n\n Maintain accurate operational records, communication, and follow-up on outstanding issues.\n\n Invoice Verification & Continuous Improvement\n\n Verify transport invoices against agreed rates and services, identifying incorrect charges and discrepancies.\n\n Follow up with providers on billing corrections and outstanding information.\n\n Use existing reporting systems to monitor costs, identify inefficiencies, and support operational improvements.\n\nDesired Experience & Qualification\n\n Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.\n\n Good numerical ability and attention to detail.\n\n Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer applications.\n\n Ability to manage multiple operational responsibilities and service providers.\n\nExperience:\n\nExperience with logistics, transport tracking, route planning, invoicing, or reporting systems would be advantageous - but are not a requirement.\n\nInterested?\nWe are looking for someone who is proactive, organised, reliable and comfortable taking ownership of operational problems.
