The WIL Coordinator plays a pivotal role in supporting student success by facilitating meaningful experiential learning opportunities that bridge academic learning and professional practice. Based within the Faculty of Applied Psychology, the successful candidate will provide academic, professional, and developmental support to students, facilitate WIL learning activities, supervise student placements, and monitor student progress throughout their WIL journey.\nThe role also involves building and maintaining relationships with industry and community partners, coordinating placement and project opportunities, and ensuring compliance with institutional, professional, and quality assurance requirements. This position is ideal for a registered psychology professional who is passionate about student development, experiential learning, and preparing future practitioners for professional practice and employment.\nQualifications and Experience\nBachelor of Psychology, Bachelor of Social Science Honours in Psychology (BPsych Equivalent), or an equivalent qualification.\nCurrent registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) for a minimum of three (3) years is essential.\nMinimum of two (2) years' experience in a Work-Integrated Learning, student support, academic coordination, supervision, counselling, or related higher education role.\nExperience in programme coordination, student support, and administrative management.\nKnowledge of professional practice requirements, workplace learning environments, and industry trends relevant to psychology and related disciplines.\nExperience working within the South African Higher Education sector will be advantageous.\nStrong digital literacy skills, including experience with learning management systems, student information systems, and Microsoft Office applications.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\nStrong organisational, planning, and time-management abilities.\nSkills and Personal Attributes\nPassion for higher education, student development, and experiential learning.\nStudent-centred approach with a commitment to supporting student success, professional growth, and employability.\nExcellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.\nStrong relationship-building skills with the ability to engage effectively with students, colleagues, supervisors, placement sites, and external partners.\nHigh levels of professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct.\nStrong problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities.\nSelf-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.\nAdaptable and resilient, with the ability to respond effectively to changing priorities and operational demands.\nDetail-oriented with a commitment to quality, accuracy, and continuous improvement.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities, competing deadlines, and perform effectively in a dynamic environment.\nStrong administrative and coordination skills with excellent attention to detail.\nDemonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgement.\n*Due to the nature of this role, there will be a need to work flexible hours to the extent to which it is reasonably necessary to perform the duties of the Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Coordinator.\nOperating Hours:\nThis is a full-time position operating from Mondays to Fridays*:\nMonday to Thursday: 08:30 -
