The anticipated start date is around the first week of December. Interviews will begin mid-late summer.\nBasic Function and Overview: The Lift Attendant is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of mountain lifts and the guests who use them. Lift Attendants spend their days helping guests, of all skill levels, load and unload from lifts, in an outdoor mountain environment.\nEssential Tasks and Responsibilities:\nDuties include, but are not limited to: \nPerform daily pre-operation checks of the lift to ensure safe operation and sign documents certifying that these inspections are completed.\nAssist with shoveling and raking snow and chopping ice on a regular basis to maintain proper ramps, corrals, and work areas.\nOperate the chairlift in a safe and responsible way, complying with all safety protocols and procedures.\nLoad guests onto the chair in a safe and responsible manner.\nMaintain load and unload ramps and areas around all lift stations to ensure clean and safe work/ski environments.\nIdentify and report any unusual problems or hazardous conditions to a supervisor to ensure the public’s safety.\nMaintain knowledge of all policies, procedures, and rules regarding operating and riding a ski lift.\nBe aware of all safety components, policies, and procedures for the lift and be able to execute them correctly during daily shifts and in case of an emergency.\nEvacuate guests from chairlifts as needed.\nMust become familiar with the ski area lifts and trails.\nUse all departmentally required PPE.\nAdvise guests as needed in a courteous, respectful manner.\nRequired Skills and Abilities: \nStrong work ethic and dependability.\nExcellent customer service and communication skills.\nMust always remain alert and attentive.\nAttention to detail and quick reaction times are necessary.\nPreferred Skills and Abilities\nThe ability to ski or snowboard at an intermediate level is preferred.\nRequired Education and Experience:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\nMust be 18 years or older. \nPrevious experience operating a ski lift is preferred but not necessary.\nPhysical Demands:\nWithstand constant exposure to extreme weather elements including but not limited to below-freezing temperatures, wind, snow, rain, and sleet.\nStand and walk on slippery and/or uneven snow or icy surfaces.\nLift up to 50 pounds and bump/stall chairs up to 400 pounds traveling up to 450 feet per minute.\nShovel large volumes of snow and/or ice is required.\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily- reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
