Recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls. Coordinates manufacturing launch for new or revised products. Priorities include process improvement, problem resolution, project management and employee training.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nPerforms research, design and development of manufacturing processes, including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment\nPrepares and maintains detailed layouts of buildings and equipment\nCoordinates the manufacturing launch of new/revised products, including establishing goals, training team members and evaluating results\nDesigns, develops, tests or sources and cost-justifies various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods\nCreates and maintains job elements sheets and standard worksheets\nPerforms product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement and efficiency improvement\nRepresents manufacturing on cross-functional teams\nLeads and supports lean manufacturing initiatives including cost reductions and productivity improvements.\nAdhere to all safety requirements in the work area; PPE REQUIREMENTS: In compliance with OSHA standards, it has been determined that Safety glasses and footwear are required on the plant floor.\nPractice 5Ss\nRequired Qualifications\nB.S. degree from a four-year college or university in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, etc.) or equivalent experience and demonstrated knowledge of:\nThroughput\nQuality\nMaterial flows\nProcess Improvement (CI) and Lean manufacturing knowledge\nExcellent Interpersonal communication, Problem solving and troubleshooting skills\nCell layout experience\nMicrosoft Office and AutoCAD experience\nSelf-starter requiring minimal direction\nLuke Baird Work Environment and Physical Requirements\nMust have the ability to read, write, speak and understand English plus have adequate hearing and visual acuity.\nThe working environment is in an air-conditioned environment and regularly physically going into an unheated/air-conditioned manufacturing/warehouse setting.\nFrequently reaching, gripping, and carrying up to 50 lbs., standing, stooping, bending, stretching, squatting and walking in addition to being seated a good portion of the day.\nGood communication skills are required in addition to understanding verbal and written instruction.\nMust handle multiple tasks and perform effectively in a fast-paced work environment.\nWork Environment\nThis position operates in both an office and manufacturing environment.
