This leader will oversee the full analytics function-data management, collection, insights, reporting, and advanced strategic planning-spanning both our portfolio of real estate investments and insurance operations.\nThis leader must be able to roll up their sleeves, work autonomously, move fast, and drive measurable impact without requiring extensive support or infrastructure. They will set the vision for analytics and ensure the company leverages data to make intelligent, high-velocity decisions.\nKey Responsibilities:\nAnalytics Strategy and Leadership\nLead the analytics strategy, setting the direction for data collection, management, analysis, and insight generation across insurance and investment management operations.\n\nOversee and develop a growing analytics function, ensuring high-quality reporting, modeling, and data practices.\n\nTranslate complex data into actionable insights that inform executive decision-making, operational improvements, and capital allocation.\n\nDrive automation and analytics tooling, identifying opportunities to modernize systems and improve velocity of insight generation.\n\nMentor and build a high-performing analytics team while still being willing to execute hands-on work when needed.\n\nData Collection & Governance\nDesign and execute data collection frameworks, ensuring inputs are accurate, timely, and consistent across business units.\n\nBuild and operate analytics workflows personally when needed, including hands-on data analysis, dashboard creation, modeling, and KPI development.\n\nEstablish data governance standards, ensuring data quality, consistency, and compliance across the enterprise.\n\nCross-Functional Partnership\nPartner with cross-functional executives (Finance, Operations, Product, and Technology) to embed analytics rigor throughout key initiatives.\n\nOwn analytics across a portfolio of investments, coordinating data gathering and reporting across our insurance and investment business to drive visibility and performance management.\n\nDevelop reporting platforms that support underwriting optimization, claims performance, distribution insights, financial forecasting, and operational measurement.\n\nMinimum Qualifications\n5+ years of experience in a leadership capacity, managing teams/direct reports.\n\n10+ years of experience in analytics, data strategy, business intelligence, or a related field.\n\nProven experience leading company-wide analytics programs, preferably in a fast-moving start-up environment.\n\nDemonstrated ability to operate both strategically and tactically-comfortable working autonomously and rolling up sleeves to execute.\n\nStrong background in data operations, statistical analysis, dashboarding, and data governance.\n\nExperience working with or supporting investment portfolios and/or insurance/financial services analytics.\n\nExceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into executive-ready insights.\n\nTrack record of building and leading high-performing analytics teams.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience in insurance operations, insurtech, or commercial real estate investment analytics.\n\nProficiency in modern data tools (Snowflake, Databricks, Looker, Tableau, Power BI, SQL, Python, Metabase, etc.).\n\nBackground in operational analytics, underwriting data, claims modeling, or portfolio performance analytics.\n\nWhat We Offer\nCompetitive compensation including salary, bonus, and equity.\n\nBenefits package including medical, dental, vision, unlimited PTO, and 401k.\n\nOpportunity to shape and lead the marketing function of a high-growth MGA.\n\nCombination of office and remote working environments in NYC or Austin, TX.\n\nDirect impact on strategy, brand, and the future of specialty P&C insurance.\n\nEntrepreneurial culture with room to build, innovate, and own outcomes.\n\nWhy SafeLease?\nThe tech: Our prospects convert fast because we’re solving real problems and delivering serious value to commercial real estate owners.\nThe team: We’re a team of seasoned pros and sharp operators who know how to move fast and build smart.
