The main tasks are the assessment through measurement and the decision that an item fulfils the specifications. The inspector plays a key position in the overall quality management system where process standardization and the reduction in performance variation are integral to the plant’s continuous improvement.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:\nInspection and assessment of incoming, work-in-process, and final materials.\nAdherence to all company and quality policies and procedures.\nAssist with the document control maintenance.\nAssist with the maintenance of measurement devices in the calibration program.\nCompletion of process data collection and statistical evaluations.\nHandle multiple tasks and accept verbal direction with efficiency.\nCollection of records, history and other pertinent information to summarize reports.\nAssessment of return goods and customer compliant items as directed\nMaintain a neat and orderly work site.\nCritical Competencies:\nAbility to read blueprints\nKnowledge of proper usage methods for measurement equipment, i.e.: gages, callipers, height gages, micrometers and other standard devices\nAbility to perform basic math functions; addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, proportions, rates, and percent’s.\nUnderstanding of basic statistical functions; average, range, standard deviation, SPC charts, scatter plots, and regression.\nFamiliarity with production software MRP, ERP systems required\nBasic computer skills, such as MS Office suite\nBasic technical problem solving skills.\nGood organizational skills and ability to handle administrative tasks.\nGood written and verbal communication skills required. Ability to interact with a variety of departments and customers.\nPhysical Demands:\nVisual acuity to read information electronically and on paper. Ability to read font size 6 and higher with or without correction.\nBe able to handle a variety of materials; rubber(s), vinyl, latex, metal(s), urethane(s) and chemical solvents.\nPhysical strength to lift and carry 25 pounds frequently through the day and material weighting up to 250 pounds with assistance occasionally.\nAbility to use of a variety of hand tools including (but not limited to) Allen wrenches, torque wrenches and socket wrenches.\nEducation/Experience:\n·Minimum HS diploma or GED required.\n·Two-year technical degree (ASME) or equivalent from an accredited technical institution\nis preferred. Machine shop experience in the quality discipline or a related field will be considered.\n·One to three years of quality or related experience in a factory environment is preferred.\n·Prior Experience in an ISO 9001 systems a plus.\n·Database experience is a plus.
