is a full-time daytime-only position based at Fibercore House, Southampton, SO16 7QQ.\n\nAs Test Supervisor, you will take day-to-day operational responsibility for the Test team, working closely with the Production Manager to ensure resources are effectively deployed to meet priorities and maintain throughput.\n\nYou will be expected to:\nUse the Test Dashboard to coordinate activities and deploy resources according to operational needs.\nTake ownership of test workload and throughput, using a proactive, problem-solving approach to identify and drive solutions to issues that could affect the flow of work.\nAct as the first point of contact when test priorities, requirements or actions are unclear, seeking Engineering support where required.\nSupervise and support the Test team, balancing workloads and contributing directly to testing when required.\nEnsure effective handover and communication between day and night shifts, including priorities, outstanding work and issues.\nWork closely with Engineering and Manufacturing, demonstrating the initiative, judgement and operational accountability expected of the Test Supervisor.\nTake responsibility for health and safety, and quality within the test area.\n\nYou will also spend a significant proportion of your working day carrying out the duties of a Test Technician alongside your supervisory responsibilities.\n\nYou will be expected to:\nOperate proof test machines, including length checking and fibre scrapping operations.\nPerform a range of geometric and optical measurements on optical fibre products, following standard work instructions and using precision test equipment and bespoke software.\nAccurately record test results in the required spreadsheets and in-house databases.\nMonitor measurement results and trends, identifying and escalating irregularities to \nEngineering where required.\nPerform basic maintenance and routine checks on test equipment, helping to maintain reliable and accurate operation.\nMaintain and develop your technical skills to support measurement accuracy, consistency and test capability.\n\nRole Requirements:\nExperienced at operating all measurement equipment.\nA high degree of dexterity.\nA strong attention to detail and accuracy.\nAgile and adaptable, able to switch focus quickly.\nA fast learner, with an interest in the study of measurement.\nConfident and competent with the use of standard IT equipment and software.\nHave positive teamworking skills and a strong work ethic to ensure smooth department communication and cohesion.\nAbility to identify positive changes and a proactive approach to instigating them\n\nEducation and/or experience:\nMinimum of 5 GCSEs, or equivalent, grade 4 (C) or above, including Maths and a Science subject.\nPractical experience using test and measurement equipment within a manufacturing or technical environment.\nAbility to follow and interpret technical procedures, work instructions and test requirements accurately.\nAble to demonstrate a proactive and solution-focused approach, with the confidence to make day-to-day decisions and seek support when required.\nGood communication and organisational skills, with the ability to coordinate priorities and work effectively with
