We provide virtually fail-safe GNSS and PNT solutions for military and commercial applications worldwide.\nOur team contributes to national/international innovation projects and business opportunities focused on resilient positioning, navigation and timing, GNSS simulation, timing distribution, synchronization technologies and interference detection and mitigation. The team develops and validates advanced simulation capabilities, including GNSS scenarios involving jamming, spoofing, signal degradation, and resilient PNT use cases. These activities support both research demonstrators and future product capabilities.\nTo this end, we work with technologies related to ultra-accurate synchronization (sub-ns) and frequency distribution. This allows to deliver a broad set of products and technical solutions based on the enhanced White Rabbit PTP synchronization technology for a variety of applications, ranging from timing distribution in financial networks to robust and reliable positioning.\nThe Position:\nAs an Embedded Software Engineer, you will start working on a highly motivating engagement with the R&T Engineering Team in Granada, Spain, where you will be expected to develop the elements and tools of the GNSS simulation platform.\nAs an R&T Software Engineer, you will work closely with the GNSS Simulation team to extend the capabilities of our simulation platform, develop embedded software components and C-based functionalities, and support the improvement of interference detection and signal processing algorithms.\nThus, you will assist in the development, integration, and validation of the main critical scenarios under study. This could include custom simulation modules, user-level applications, software libraries, or even develop/test automation procedures. Moreover, you will implement the necessary extensions to our simulation scenarios, and debug and diagnose any issues arising during the design of these extensions.\nYou will be involved in national/international collaborative R&T projects, where technical rigor, clear communication, structured documentation is key, and the ability to contribute to demonstrators and technical deliverables is essential. Capability to elaborate showcase proof of concepts and traveling to technical meetings is expected.\nWhat you’ll be doing:\n You will have the responsibility for understanding the requirements and assisting in the development of a project that includes highly innovative elements.\nYou will use your critical thinking and problem-solving skills to ensure highest quality results in accordance with the schedule, effort, and budget.\nYou will have effective communication with other project partners, project managers, and will be constantly communicating with them from project kick-offs to stakeholder meetings.\n\nMore specifically on the technical side:\nDevelop and maintain software components and C-based plugins for GNSS simulation platforms.\nExtend simulator capabilities to support new GNSS scenarios, including interference, jamming, spoofing, signal degradation, and resilient PNT use cases.\nSupport the design, implementation, and evaluation of signal processing algorithms for interference detection and mitigation.\nWork with embedded Linux environments and contribute to low-level or system-level software development.\nApply real-time programming concepts and support multithreaded or parallel software implementations when required.\nPrototype, test, and compare technical approaches using C, C++, Python, and scripting tools.\nValidate software components through unit tests, integration tests, test campaigns, and reproducible validation procedures.\nAnalyze test results, debug technical issues, and document findings clearly.\nUse Git-based version control workflows and contribute to maintaining software configuration discipline.\nPrepare technical documentation, validation reports, design notes, and project deliverables.\nSupport technical planning, task definition, research analysis, and project follow-up activities.\nContribute to demonstrations, proofs of concept, and technical reviews with internal and external partners.\nMain responsabilities:\nContribute to the definition of technical specifications, software requirements, and validation criteria\nDevelop, test, and document software components according to the project plan\nSupport the implementation of new GNSS simulation capabilities and interference detection functions.\nEstimate workload for assigned tasks and report progress, risks, and technical issues\nMaintain software configuration using version control tools and agreed development workflows.\nDefine and execute module, integration, and validation tests.\nProduce technical deliverables, including design notes, validation reports, test procedures, and user documentation.\nSupport task definition and technical inputs for new proposals aligned with the R&T roadmap.\nParticipate in the final qualification of deliverables, including software and documentation validation.\nWhat you Bring to our Team:\n Master’s Degree in Informatics, Telecommunications, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.\nGood written and communication skills in English.\nAmbition to grow and develop personally and professionally. Passion for challenges and technology. Ability to participate in ambitious projects with major international technology leaders.\nMore on the technical side:\nSolid programming skills in C, with knowledge of C++ and Python.\nBasic knowledge of digital signal processing.\nFamiliarity with Linux-based development environments.\nUnderstanding of software validation, debugging, testing, and version control.\nStructured mindset, autonomy, and ability to learn complex technical topics.\nInterest in GNSS, resilient PNT, signal processing, simulation, and applied research.\nMore specific desirable experience in:\nEmbedded software development, testing, and debugging.\nReal-time programming and multithreaded or parallel programming.\nDevelopment of C-based plugins, simulation modules, software interfaces, or low-level software components.\nDigital signal processing applied to GNSS, RF signals, interference detection, or signal quality monitoring.\nRF systems, including basic understanding of RF front-ends, spectrum analysis, signal propagation, and interference effects.\nGNSS, SDR, spoofing, jamming, or interference detection techniques.\nAutomation and scripting skills, for example Bash, TCL, or Python.\nVersion control systems and collaborative development workflows, especially Git.\nSoftware validation, unit testing, integration testing, CI/CD, or automated validation environment.\nTiming, synchronization, and frequency dissemination protocols such as PTP, NTP, SyncE, White Rabbit, or similar technologies.\nTechnical documentation, validation reports, test procedures, and project deliverables.\nProficiency in written and spoken English.\nStrong interpersonal and communication skills.\nTeamwork and collaboration skills.\nYou do not have to bring everything listed here, but any of this would be a plus!\nThe keys of our offer:\nBe part of a leading and expanding company.\nHealth insurance.\nFlexible work schedule.\nInternational and dynamic environment in Granada, Spain with some travels and collaborations with other teams in the company in EU and United States.\nHigh possibilities to grow inside the company.\nProfessional Career Plan.\nSafran is an equal opportunity employer who does not discriminate based on race, color, citizenship, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, veteran’s status or any protected category.
