The Buyer will continually seek new and alternative ideas, products, and materials whose adoption might improve company efficiency and profitability.\nRequirements\nBachelor's degree in Business or Supply Chain Management preferred. Equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree required.\nPrevious experience in an Aerospace/Defense materials purchasing department or manufacturing industry preferred.\nMinimum of 5 years progressively responsible purchasing related experiences in a manufacturing environment.\nExperience with MfgPro/QAD/MQ1 desired. Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge/experience preferred. Well-developed understanding of business principles with comparative, quantitative and communication skills.\nResponsibilities\nConduct the appropriate level of price/cost analysis to obtain the most favorable economic purchase with the emphasis that cost reductions will be critical. This position will take the lead on Non-Inventory activities.\nSecures and analyzes quotations, negotiates prices and terms with suppliers, and recommends suppliers with respect to cost, quality and delivery competitiveness for assigned responsibilities.\nHelps coordinate as appropriate quality matters and engineering changes/developments between company activities and suppliers.
