SageSure, a leader in catastrophe-exposed property insurance, is seeking an Intern to join the Rising Pioneer Program as part of our Software Engineering team. \nOver the course of this 10-week program, interns will gain tangible, hands-on experience and insight into our business operations. After 3 days of orientation and training, you’ll join our Software Engineering team, where you’ll be assigned projects with unlimited opportunity for challenges and achievement. We have, very often, considered our interns for post-graduation roles within the company. \nWhat you’d be doing: \nLearn and network with employees, leaders, and other interns during an on-the-job experience. \nPotential to earn college credit. \nProvide research and analysis support on ad-hoc projects. \nFulfill tasks and project assignments set out by team leaders. \nReceive coaching, mentoring, and feedback from knowledgeable SageSure professionals. \nSupport the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software applications and solutions. \nWrite, review, and troubleshoot code, with a primary focus on Java-based development. \nCollaborate with Software Engineers, Product Managers, and other technology partners to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions. \nParticipatein code reviews, testing, debugging, and other software development lifecycle activities. \nAssistwith identifyingand resolving software defects and technical issues. \nContribute to the development of scalable, reliable, and maintainable software solutions. \nLearn and apply software engineering best practices, including source control, documentation, testing, and agile development methodologies. \nParticipate in team meetings, technical discussions, and project planning activities. \nWe’re looking for someone who has: \nIs currently enrolled in a relevant degree program with a focus on Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field, with an anticipatedgraduation date in 2028. \nHas foundational programming knowledge and experience with Java through coursework, projects, or prior experience. \nDemonstrates strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills. \nUnderstands object-oriented programming concepts and software development fundamentals. \nHas strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical team members. \nIs detail-oriented and able to approach technical problems with curiosity and persistence. \nIs comfortable multitasking and eager to learn new technologies, tools, and development practices. \nHas the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as a team member. \nIs authorized to work in the United States. \nHighly preferred candidates also have: \nPrior internship, technical project, or software development experience. \nGPA of 3.0 or higher. \nExperience developing applications or completing academic projects using Java. \nFamiliarity with Git or other source control tools. \nExposure to APIs, databases, SQL, cloud technologies, or web application development. \nFamiliarity with automated testing, debugging tools, or software testing concepts. \nExposure to Agile or Scrum development environments. \nExperience with additional programming languages or technologies beyond Java. \nSoftware at SageSure: \nOriginally founded as a software and analytics business, SageSure's proprietary technology has always been a key source of competitive advantage.
