In this role the Drafter/CAD Operator will provide drafting and documentation support as part of a collaborative production team. The Drafter/CAD Operator will report directly to the Manufacturing Engineer and will play a key role in creating and updating Technical Data Packages while working closely with other engineers, technicians, and customers to capture and document design requirements.\nKey Responsibilities\nCreate and modify detailed drawings using Solid Edge CAD software\nDevelop and update Technical Data Packages in accordance with applicable military and industry standards\nWork closely with customers, engineers, technicians, and other personnel to capture design intent and requirements\nWork both independently and collaboratively to effect changes to design and documentation\nPerform a variety of moderate to complex drafting and documentation tasks\nUtilize measurement tools including calipers, gauges, tape measures, rulers, and other mechanical devices to aid in design development and verification and validation \nEnsure all drawings and documentation are compliant with applicable standards and procedures\nComplete professional correspondence and communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively\nContribute to the completion of project milestones and program schedules\nWork Environment\nThis position is fully onsite in Bedford, IN\nSupports SAIC and DoD in a collaborative production and engineering environment\nPrimarily internal collaboration with limited external customer engagement\nFast paced environment requiring strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently\n Required Qualifications\nAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in a related fieldHigh School Diploma or GED with a minimum of three (3) years of related experience may be considered in lieu of degree\n\nProficiency with 3D parametric CAD software required\nHands on mechanical or electro-mechanical knowledge and aptitude with an understanding of currently accepted manufacturing processes and ISO procedures\nExceptional attention to detail with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and professionally\nAbility to work independently as well as in a team environment with detailed or general instruction\nStrong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to complete professional correspondence\nMust be a U.S. Citizen\nActive Secret clearance or ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearanceSAIC will sponsor the clearance for the right candidate\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with Solid Edge CAD software strongly preferred\nKnowledge of ASME Y14.100, MIL-STD-31000, and associated drawing standards\nFamiliarity with Technical Data Packages and Military Standards\nExperience supporting Department of Defense or government contracts\nPrior experience working in a production or manufacturing
