The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Remote Weapons Systems (MK 93 and MK 97)on surface ships and other platforms. Support planning and execution of ship alterations and modernization efforts.\nKey Responsibilities:\nSupport mechanical and electrical integration of Remote Weapon Systems (e.g., MK 93, MK 97 and associated mounts, control units, and interfaces) on surface ships and other platforms.\nInterpret and execute drawings, schematics, work packages, and technical directives for system installation and modification.\nAssist in developing and refining shipboard integration solutions, including mounting arrangements, cable routing, and power/grounding schemes.\nConduct onboard surveys to assess existing configurations and determine installation constraints, interfaces, and material requirements.\nSupport planning and execution of ship alterations (SHIPALTs), modernization efforts, and configuration changes associated with RWS and related systems.\nCoordinate with shipyards, ISEAs, government representatives, and JXNL project teams to schedule and perform installation, checkout, and acceptance activities.\nDocument “as found” and “as-built” conditions, including updates to drawings, cable run sheets, and configuration management records.\nPerform advanced mechanical work including mounting hardware installation, structural attachments, alignment, and fit checks consistent with shipboard standards.\nPerform advanced electrical work including cable fabrication, terminations, connections, power distribution, bonding/grounding, and continuity/insulation resistance testing.\nTroubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate tools, test equipment, and diagnostic procedures; recommend corrective actions and implement repairs.\nSupport software uploads, upgrades, and configuration changes for RWS and associated control systems in accordance with approved procedures.\nPerform pre_ and post load verification, basic functional checks, and documentation of software baselines and changes.\nWork with systems engineers and software engineers to identify software related issues discovered during installation, integration, or shipboard testing.\nAssist in system bring up, alignment, operational verification, and acceptance testing of RWS and supporting subsystems.\nExecute test procedures, record test data, and support troubleshooting of deficiencies identified during Harbor Acceptance Tests (HAT), Shipboard Qualification Trials (SQT), or similar events.\nProvide input to test reports, discrepancy reports, and recommended corrective actions.\nProvide feedback on technical manuals, installation procedures, and engineering documentation to improve clarity, safety, and efficiency.\nPrepare and maintain detailed technical records, logbooks, discrepancy reports, and configuration control documentation.\nCoordinate daily activities with SAIC leadership, government PMs, and engineering teams to ensure alignment with schedule, scope, and technical requirements.\nProvide onboard technical assistance to ship's force and government representatives during installation, testing, and post_installation support periods.\nSupport informal hands-on familiarization/training for fleet personnel on system operation, basic troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance, as requested.\n EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:\nHigh School diploma or equivalent and 10+ years of relevant experience, or Associate's degree and 8+ years, or equivalent combination of education and experience.\nAbility to obtain/maintain full secret clearance.
