This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic production team working in a heavy fabrication and manufacturing environment. The Manufacturing Engineer will report directly to the Production Manager and will play a critical role in developing, implementing, and maintaining manufacturing methods, processes, and procedures to ensure the highest levels of quality, efficiency, and compliance.\nKey Responsibilities\nDevelop, implement, and maintain methods, operation sequences, and processes in the manufacture and fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies\nDesign sequence of operations and specify procedures for the fabrication of tools, equipment, and other functions that affect product performance\nSupport heavy fabrication, welding, mechanical assembly, and electrical assembly operations\nAdapt machine and equipment design to factory and production conditions\nEstimate manufacturing costs, determine time standards, and make recommendations for tooling and process requirements for new or existing product lines\nDesign and recommend efficient plant layout and arrangement of machines and equipment to maximize productivity\nIncorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan\nInspect performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify efficiency and investigate and initiate corrective action for problems and deficiencies\nDevelop manufacturing processes applicable to statistical process control\nEnsure all processes and procedures are in compliance with applicable regulations and standards\nMaintain records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations including Manufacturing Bill of Materials\nContribute to the completion of project milestones and program schedules\nWork Environment\nThis position is fully onsite in Bedford, IN\nSupports a Department of Defense system production contract\nFast paced heavy fabrication and manufacturing environment requiring strong attention to detail and process discipline\nCollaboration with internal teams as well as regular interaction with external customers and vendors\n Required Qualifications\nBachelor's degree with a minimum of two (2) years of related manufacturing engineering experienceAdditional training, certifications, and years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree\n\nExperience in a heavy fabrication, welding, mechanical assembly, or electrical assembly environment\nProficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks or equivalent\nStrong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to provide solutions to technical problems of moderate scope and complexity\nExceptional attention to detail with a strong process driven mindset\nAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documents\nStrong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to professionally interact with external customers and vendors\nAbility to work under general direction while following established procedures and exercising sound technical judgment\nMust be a U.S. Citizen\nActive Secret clearance or ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearanceSAIC will sponsor the clearance for the right candidate\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience supporting Department of Defense or government production contracts\nStrong experience in setting up and optimizing production processes including defining and sequencing order of operations\nDemonstrated ability to analyze existing production workflows and recommend changes to improve efficiency and reduce waste\nExperience reviewing technical documentation, engineering drawings, and specifications with the ability to identify gaps and suggest engineering
