This position offers a hybrid work schedule, with on-site work performed primarily in the Reston or Chantilly, Virginia offices. Candidates should be local to the Northern Virginia area.\nThe Proposal Writer will serve as a key member of the Proposal Development Center (PDC), working closely with capture, technical, and subject matter experts to develop compliant, compelling Federal Government proposals. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:\nContent Development & Writing\nWrite original content for all sections of Federal RFx responses with minimal oversight, including resumes, past performance, and narrative volumes\nInterview candidates and subject matter experts (SMEs) and engage with contributors to develop proposal artifacts that are clear, concise, persuasive, compliant, and compelling\nIncorporate win strategies, themes, and discriminators into proposal artifacts\nDevelop templates and support content planning across the proposal lifecycle\nCompliance & Quality Assurance\nEnsure content is accurate, error-free, and aligned to RFx requirements, company processes, capture strategies, and industry best practices\nConduct peer reviews of teammates’ work and incorporate feedback on your own work\nServe as a reviewer in formal color reviews, providing subject matter insight and expertise\nStrategy Development & Collaboration\nParticipate in the earliest stages of capture strategy development, as needed\nCollaborate with capture, technical, and subject matter experts to align content with win strategies and evaluator objectives\nApply analytical skills to improve process efficiency and proposal quality, including through the use of proprietary AI tools\nTeam Leadership & Mentoring\nCoach and mentor less-experienced writers\nContribute to process improvement initiatives within the Proposal Development Center\nParticipate in training and development activities, including emerging technologies (AI), leadership development, and industry best practices\n Required Qualifications:\nBA or BS degree or higher (or equivalent) in Journalism, English, Business, Information Technology, Communication Arts, or a related field, and 10+ years of Federal proposal writing experience; 8+ years of experience with a Master’s degree; an additional 4+ years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree\nMust be a U.S. Citizen with an active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI\nExperience providing full lifecycle Federal proposal support, from content planning, template development, and writing and editing key sections (resumes, past performance, and narrative volumes) through submission\nExperience writing proposals or technical documents for the Federal Government\nStrong critical thinking skills and the ability to quickly understand technically complex information\nStrong writing, communication, and English-language skills, including grammar and editing proficiency\nDemonstrated ability to incorporate win strategies, themes, and discriminators into proposal artifacts\nEffective written and verbal communication skills to interact with all levels of management and content developers\nAbility to work efficiently and successfully under conditions of multiple deadlines and changing priorities\nAbility to successfully execute multiple tasks simultaneously\nAbility to travel as necessary\nDesired Qualifications:\nExperience with FEDSIM/AAS, OTA, and Self-Scoring bids\nProficiency with AI tools for quality improvements and efficiency\nKnowledge of infrastructure modernization, applications/software development and sustainment, cloud solutions, warfighter solutions, and agile methodologies across defense, civilian, space, and national security sectors of the Federal
