While your primary focus will be front-end development, you will also work closely with cloud and backend services teams to ensure secure, performant, and scalable end-to-end solutions in support of Veterans and the VA mission. This position can be worked remotely within the United States for the right candidate.\nResponsibilities\nDesign, develop, and maintain front-end web applications using modern web technologies (e.g., TypeScript/JavaScript and React, Angular, or similar frameworks).\nBuild and style responsive, accessible, and user-friendly interfaces that provide a polished and effective user experience for VA stakeholders.\nIntegrate front-end components with backend REST services and APIs, collaborating closely with backend engineers to support AI-enabled workflows.\nCollaborate with AI/ML engineers to incorporate AI-driven insights and decision support into intuitive user interfaces and front-end workflows, including using AI tools (e.g., Claude) to assist with development and research.\nImplement front-end best practices for performance, security, and scalability in a cloud-hosted environment (e.g., AWS or Azure).\nWork with UX designers and product owners to translate requirements and wireframes into production-ready UI components and screens.\nSupport front-end testing, debugging, and performance optimization, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing where applicable.\nMaintain clear documentation for front-end components, UI patterns, and integration points with APIs and platform services.\n Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent relevant experience) and 5 years of experience.
