This is a 100% Remote role.\nJob Description\nDevelops and maintains software configuration management tools to support configuration identification, control, reporting, and delivery of both internally developed software and externally purchased commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software products.\nPerforms configuration management and release engineering tasks to ensure new software product operating parameters are documented, comply with standard hardware configurations, and are logistically sustainable.\nDesigns, develops, automates, and maintains productivity tools using programming, database or scripting languages to improve software modeling and development.\nDesigns and implements build procedures that are used to support software product development and use.\nMay develop software configuration standards for company-wide use.\nMay train software developers in the use of configuration management tools and the implementation of software quality standards.\nIt should be understood that this is not intended to be a detailed nor comprehensive description of any individual employee's job content. Managers set the specific duties and responsibilities for each employee.\n Education and Experience\nBachelor’s degree and ten (10) or more years of relevant experience; an additional eight (8) years of relevant experience may be substituted for education.\nDegree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related scientific/technical discipline is required.\nPreferred certifications: ITIL Foundation, CMII or equivalent configuration management certifications are a plus.\nProven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex software builds and releases across multiple environments.\nExperience working within large, regulated enterprises or federal environments is beneficial.\nRequirements\nDeep expertise in software configuration management and release engineering; broad knowledge of development, QA, systems engineering, and DevOps.\nProvides technical guidance and solutions to complex problems; operates autonomously and makes sound decisions.\nEnsures compliant, repeatable build and deployment processes across projects; collaborates frequently with internal and external stakeholders.\nSkilled in:Configuration management practices (identification, baselining, change control, status accounting).\nSource control systems (Git, GitLab, GitHub, Azure DevOps Repos, Subversion) and branching/merging strategies.\nCI/CD tools (Jenkins, Azure DevOps Pipelines, GitHub Actions) and artifact repositories (Nexus, Artifactory).\nScripting for automation (Bash, PowerShell, Python).\nManaging COTS software, vendor patches, and version control.\nInfrastructure as code and environment management (Ansible, Terraform).\n\nKnowledgeable in software quality standards, governance frameworks, and training developers on CM tools and quality practices.\nProficient with work management tools (JIRA, Azure Boards, Trello) and documentation tools (Confluence, Visio, Lucidchart).\nUnderstands database concepts, dependency management, and build reproducibility.\nStrong analytical skills for investigating build failures, dependency conflicts, and deployment issues.\nExcellent communication skills; able to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.\nEffective collaborator and mentor; leads and trains junior analysts/engineers in CM best practices.\nManages multiple priorities and projects in fast-paced environments;
