This is a high-impact role embedded at the customer site, working directly with government engineers and program teams on some of the Department of Defense's most technically challenging and strategically important hypersonic development efforts.\nThe ideal candidate brings a strong systems engineering foundation, hands-on experience with MBSE tools and methodologies, and the ability to engage across the full system lifecycle - from concept development through validation and verification.\nWhat You'll Do\nCore Systems Engineering Responsibilities\nReview and evaluate Technical Data Packages (TDPs) for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with program requirements\nParticipate in and support Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETRs), including:\nSystem Requirements Reviews (SRR)\nPreliminary Design Reviews (PDR)\nCritical Design Reviews (CDR)\nTest Readiness Reviews (TRR)\nSupport Drawing Reviews and Model Reviews to ensure design integrity and traceability\nMBSE & Architecture\nDevelop, maintain, and update system architecture models using MBSE tools, with Cameo Systems Modeler as the primary platform\nApply SysML or equivalent modeling languages to capture system structure, behavior, requirements, and interfaces\nEnsure model fidelity and consistency across program phases and stakeholder views\nSupport transition from document-based to model-based engineering practices within the program\nSystems Engineering Activities\nAssist with and lead a broad range of systems engineering functions, including:\n Concept of Operations (CONOPS) formulation and documentation\nRequirements definition, decomposition, and management\nTechnical analyses and trade studies to inform design decisions\nSystem architecting, analysis, and design activities\nSystem performance analysis and margin assessments\n Interface management including development and maintenance of Interface Control Documents (ICDs)\nSystems integration planning and coordination\n Validation and Verification (V&V) planning and execution support\nPreparation of engineering plans, process instructions, and technical documentation\nStakeholder Engagement\nCollaborate directly with government engineers, program managers, and technical leads at NSWC Crane\nCoordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to resolve technical issues\nCommunicate technical status, risks, and recommendations clearly in both written and verbal formats\n Required Qualifications\n Active Secret Clearance (Interim Secret required to start; must be able to obtain Top Secret)\n Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline (Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering preferred)\nMBSE experience, with Cameo Systems Modeler required\n5+ years of systems engineering experience\nDemonstrated experience in product design, procurement, or production floor engineering\nExperience designing prototypes or ensuring designs meet functional requirements from procurement through validation and verification\nStrong understanding of systems engineering processes and methodologies across the program lifecycle\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills;
