The successful candidate will lead a team of technicians responsible for Shipboard Instrumentation System Calibration (SISCAL) services across Fleet platforms, while providing advanced engineering analysis, configuration management support, calibration procedure development, and technical leadership for emerging calibration technologies.\nThis position plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and readiness of Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) instrumentation systems supporting U.S. Navy surface ships and submarines.\nKey Responsibilities:\nTechnical Leadership and Team Management\nLead and supervise a team of five technicians supporting NSWCPD Code 534 calibration operations.\nDirect execution of onboard SISCAL calibration services for Calibration Activity 2 instrumentation associated with HM&E systems.\nEnsure calibration activities comply with Navy calibration requirements and the approved Calibration Requirements List (CRL).\nCoordinate technician workloads, quality assurance activities, and customer support requirements.\nShipboard Calibration Support\nOversee calibration services performed through the Navy's Automated Work Request (AWR) process.\nSupport Fleet-wide calibration requirements as tasked by NSWCPD Code 534.\nProvide technical guidance during shipboard calibration events and troubleshooting activities.\nEnsure calibration records and documentation are maintained in accordance with Navy standards.\nNew Construction and Modernization Support\nAssist with initial SISCAL visits for new construction ships.\nConduct Installed Instrumentation Configuration Reviews (IICR) to verify instrumentation configurations and calibration requirements.\nSupport calibration planning and configuration assessments for ship modernization and backfit alteration programs.\nEngineering Analysis and System Calibration Procedure Development\nPerform detailed SISCAL engineering analyses for new construction and altered surface ships and submarines.\nEvaluate instrumentation configurations, system modifications, and calibration impacts resulting from design changes.\nAssess engineering documentation, platform baselines, and instrument inventories to validate calibration requirements.\nDevelop, maintain, and update System Calibration Procedures (SCPs) to ensure alignment with as-configured platform baselines.\nAnalyze shipboard system interfaces and calibration dependencies to enhance overall measurement system reliability.\nCalibration Process Improvement\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives related to calibration processes, procedures, and technical guidance.\nValidate instrument inventories and calibration requirements against current platform configurations.\nIdentify opportunities to improve lifecycle supportability and Fleet readiness through enhanced calibration management practices.\nCalibration Standards Evaluation and Deployment\nProvide technical and logistics leadership for the evaluation, qualification, and deployment of new calibration standards.\nAssess measurement system performance, traceability requirements, calibration uncertainty, and operational suitability of emerging calibration technologies.\nCoordinate implementation strategies and logistics integration activities supporting Fleet metrology programs.\nValidate technical requirements and facilitate adoption of new calibration capabilities across supported platforms.\nEnsure successful integration of new standards into established calibration processes to improve measurement accuracy and operational effectiveness.\n Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree and nine (9) years or more experience;
