In this role, you will champion technical excellence, write and review quality code, debug complex distributed systems issues, and foster a culture of innovation and continuous delivery. You will work in an Agile environment, collaborating closely with US-based teams and stakeholders to build and maintain cloud-native, event-driven microservices on AWS.\nAbout the Team\nAt SailPoint, our Engineering team is where high-quality professional engineering meets individual impact. Our team designs and deploys scalable, enterprise-grade identity security products powered by mature cloud architecture and cutting-edge technologies.\nRequirements\nBachelors degree in related field, or equivalent professional experience\n15+ years of experience in software engineering, with demonstrated experience building, leading, and managing teams of software engineers\nStrong foundational understanding of software development, particularly in Java, as well as modern front-end architectures.\nProven track record of success delivering complex software solutions in an Agile development environment\nSolid foundation in software engineering principles, distributed systems, and cloud architecture (AWS preferred)\nExceptional leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills with a passion for continuous improvement\nStrong project management abilities with experience scoping, prioritizing, tracking, and delivering engineering milestones\nExcellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across global time zones\nWillingness to maintain at least 4 overlapping working hours with US time zones\nAI-assisted engineering:\nOur engineers are expected to use AI development tools as a core part of their daily workflow, not as a novelty. We expect you to use these tools to accelerate delivery, expand your scope, and raise the quality bar, while applying strong engineering judgment to review, validate, and own everything that ships under your name. Comfort with prompting, agentic workflows, and human-in-the-loop review of AI-generated code is a baseline expectation for this role.\nAI related Technology:\nCursor, Claude Code\nPython-based AI/ML frameworks and libraries such as scikit-learn, pandas, and numpy\nDeep Learning Frameworks such as PyTorch\nLLMs and Foundation Models in Bedrock, VertexAI, or similar\nRoadmap for Success\n30 Days:\nComplete SailPoint onboarding, understand our identity security product suite, and get familiar with the cloud-native, event-driven microservices architecture hosted on AWS.\nEstablish relationships with your engineering team, Product Management partners, and US-based counterparts.\nUnderstand the current sprint commitments, team workflows, and active technical priorities.\n60 Days:\nAssume day-to-day leadership of the engineering team and run Agile ceremonies effectively.\nActively partner with Product Management to review roadmaps, scope incoming projects, and allocate engineering resources.\nBegin coaching and setting clear performance objectives for direct reports through regular 1:1 mentorship sessions.\n90 Days:\nOwn end-to-end project planning, tracking, and risk management for your team's deliverables and key milestones.\nMaintain a seamless communication cadence with global stakeholders, ensuring overlapping collaboration with the US team.\nIdentify operational bottlenecks and implement process or architectural improvements to raise code quality and team velocity.\n6 Months:\nDrive the successful release of high-impact features and architectural enhancements to production on AWS.\nFoster a strong culture of career development, mentoring engineers toward their next career milestones.\nProactively manage technical risk, system reliability, and resource allocation across multiple simultaneous initiatives.\n1 Year:\nEstablish a proven track record of predictable, high-quality product delivery that advances SailPoint’s identity security platform.\nScale team capabilities, mentor emerging leaders, and contribute strategic engineering input toward long-term product roadmaps.\nAbout SailPoint India and our Benefits:\nNestled in the heart of Pune, a bustling hub of technology and culture, the office exemplifies SailPoint's commitment to excellence.
