At Saipem, your expertise helps shape the future globally for environmental sustainability.\nPurpose of the position:\nAs Automation Engineer, you will respond/report to the Commissioning Manager and be part of Commissioning Department within the COMP2 Project.\nHow can you support us? Here are below your responsibilities:\n1. Engineering & Design Review\nReview automation-related deliverables (P&IDs, control logic, I/O lists, loop diagrams, cause & effect charts).\nValidate vendor documents for PLC, DCS, SCADA, ESD, F&G systems.\nEnsure alignment with project specifications, international standards, and client requirements. \n2. Pre-Commissioning Activities\nPerform loop checking, continuity, insulation, and calibration activities.\nVerify installation of field instruments, control panels, and wiring. \nExecute functional checks before system energization.\nCoordinate with electrical and mechanical teams for system readiness.\n3. Commissioning & Start-up\nExecute commissioning of automation systems including: \nPLC/DCS logic testing\nCause & effect validation\nAlarm and interlock verification\nPerform system integration tests and ensure all subsystems operate as per design. \nSupport start-up activities and ensure smooth transition to operations.\n4. Testing & Validation\nConduct FAT, SAT, and performance testing.\nVerify I/O signals, control loops, and process sequences.\nTroubleshoot automation and instrumentation system issues.\n5. Documentation & Handover\nPrepare and manage: \nCommissioning procedures\nTest reports and loop folders\nAs-built documentation and dossiers\nEnsure full system documentation prior to client handover. \n6. Coordination & Interface Management\nCoordinate with: \nEngineering teams\nConstruction teams\nVendors and subcontractors\nClient representatives\nParticipate in technical meetings and provide progress reports.\n7. HSE & Compliance\nEnsure adherence to HSE policies during commissioning execution.\nParticipate in HAZOP, risk assessment, and safety reviews.\nImplement permit-to-work (PTW) and safe commissioning practices \nWhat are we looking for?\nEducation\nBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering / Instrumentation / Control Engineering / Automation Engineering\nExperience\n5-10+ years experience in EPC projects (Oil & Gas / Energy preferred)\nHands-on experience in commissioning stage is essential\nLanguages\nEnglish (required); additional languages are an asset.\nTechnical Skills\nControl systems: PLC, DCS, SCADA, ESD, F&G\nField instrumentation: pressure, flow, level, temperature systems\nCommunication protocols: Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, etc.\nTesting & commissioning tools\nStrong knowledge of IEC, ISA, API standards\nWhat can we offer to you:\nPermanent Contract - Project-based position\nCorporate Benefits: We offer a comprehensive benefits package\nWorking Hours: 60 hours (10 hours x 6 days)\nOur One Saipem Way soft skills model leverages on skills development, career growth, opportunities to innovate through complex challenges by promoting communication and collaboration to achieve common goals\nLocation: Qatar - Site\nAdditional Information\nWe support your development!
