In this role, you will be responsible for assisting project managers with planning and coordinating activities related to ongoing and upcoming applied research projects. Reporting to the research chair, you will support project managers to ensure project deliverables are met on time, within budget, and in alignment with industry and academic standards.\nThis position requires a passion for innovation and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced research environment.\nHow you'll contribute\nSupport Project Activities\nAssist project managers to coordinate and manage applied research projects both internally within CIRAMM and externally with industry partners.\nSupport project managers with developing and maintaining comprehensive project schedules, including resource planning, materials estimates, and manpower requirements, to meet project milestones effectively.\nLaboratory Support and Experimentation\nAssist in the preparation and execution of laboratory tests and procedures, ensuring compliance with established safety and quality standards.\nMaintain and repair laboratory equipment, ensuring optimal functionality to support research activities.\nMonitor and manage inventory of materials, supplies, and laboratory consumables to prevent disruptions in research activities.\nDocumentation and Reporting\nDocument project phases meticulously, including experimental designs, methodologies, and outcomes, to ensure accurate project records.\nCreate detailed project summary reports for internal and external stakeholders.\nOther Responsibilities\nSupport CIRAMM’s strategic objectives by performing additional duties as required, ensuring flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic research environment.\nWhat you bring\nEducation and Experience\nPost-secondary degree with relevant research experience.\nLaboratory Technician experience preferred.\nSkills Required\nIndependence and Team Collaboration\nAbility to work independently on tasks while actively contributing to team efforts and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.\nExcellent Communication Skills\nProven ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing. This includes the ability to prepare and deliver presentations and write detailed reports.\nProblem-Solving and Critical Thinking\nStrong analytical skills with the ability to approach challenges creatively and implement solutions that meet project objectives.\nAttention to Detail and Organizational Skills\nExceptional attention to detail and organizational skills, ensuring that project tasks are completed accurately and efficiently while maintaining high standards. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively to meet deadlines.\nTechnical Proficiency\nFamiliarity with laboratory environments and experimental procedures.
