Our specialized expertise includes data centres, healthcare, science and technology, high-rise buildings, clean energy, and other complex facilities, with strong capabilities in mechanical, electrical, and controls engineering.\nJob Summary\nWe are seeking an experienced Design Project Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of multidisciplinary design projects for mission-critical data centers across North America. This role is responsible for managing the full design lifecycle, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with client expectations and industry standards. The position is primarily remote within Canada, with occasional travel for client meetings, design workshops, and project site visits.\nKey Responsibilities\nManage multiple data center design projects from proposal through construction documentation and project closeout\nCoordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams, including electrical, mechanical, structural, and BIM/VDC professionals\nDevelop and maintain project schedules, budgets, resource plans, and deliverables\nServe as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle\nLead project kickoff meetings, design reviews, coordination meetings, and client presentations\nMonitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies to keep projects on track\nEnsure design quality, consistency, and compliance with applicable Canadian and U.S. codes, client standards, and industry best practices\nCoordinate with technical discipline leads to resolve design challenges and facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration\nSupport contract administration, scope management, change orders, and project reporting\nMentor junior project staff and promote continuous improvement in project delivery processes\nParticipate in business development activities, including proposal preparation, project planning, and client relationship management as needed\nTravel occasionally to client offices, project sites, and team meetings across Canada and the United States\nQualifications & Experience\nBachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline\n7+ years of experience managing multidisciplinary engineering or design projects, preferably involving mission-critical facilities or data centers\nProven experience leading complex projects through all phases of design and engineering\nStrong understanding of data center infrastructure, including electrical power systems, mechanical cooling systems, and critical facility design principles\nExperience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams in a consulting or EPC environment\nProficiency with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or similar scheduling software\nFamiliarity with Revit, Revizto, Bluebeam, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or comparable design coordination platforms is considered an asset\nKnowledge of Canadian building codes, applicable provincial regulations, and familiarity with U.S. industry standards\nExcellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills\nStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to manage client relationships effectively\nPMP certification or eligibility is considered an asset\nAbility to work independently in a remote environment while managing multiple concurrent projects\nEqual Opportunity Employment\n\nSalas O’Brien is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
