It also means that each member of our team has truly limitless potential to build a unique, meaningful, and high-impact career-and they’ll receive great total rewards along the way.\nJob Summary:\nThe Jr. Facility Engineer is an onsite position at the NIH Facility in Bethesda, MD.\nExamples of type of work to be performed includes:\nOperations and maintenance management planning, populating and updating computerized management and maintenance systems (CMMS), tracking and reviewing facility maintenance trouble tickets, reviewing design engineering (plans, specifications and schedules) for facility maintenance and repair projects.\nThe ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional with facility operations and maintenance experience.\nMechanical Engineering experience is a plus.\nResponsibilities:\nWork tasks will be varied and require flexibility and versatility in the facility operations and maintenance field. Examples of the type of work to be performed include:\nWork collaboratively with a team of multi-discipline engineers to produce high-quality reports and specification documents within an established schedule and budget.\nManage field operations in unconditioned mechanical and electrical spaces.\nReview as-built documents and develop repair/replacement cost estimates.\nPerform regular site visits to understand existing conditions while developing specifications, updating design or construction documents.\nPerform facility condition assessments and capital asset management planning.\nDetailed cost analyses and material take-offs of a variety of building types throughout the US.\nCoordinate and manage teams performing onsite facility condition assessments.\nQualifications and Experience:\n Bachelor of Science Degree in Management or Engineering (or related) Field required from an ABET accredited program.\n 2-5 years of professional experience in facility operations and maintenance.\nProficient in computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) software.\nProficient in Microsoft suite applications.\nEffective interpersonal skills and strong communication (written and verbal).\nConfident and ambitious problem solver.\nCreative and innovative - Self-directed initiative.\nDetail-oriented.\nPreferred: Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering Field required from an ABET accredited program.\nPreferred: FE Certification (preferred) with the ability to obtain PE Certification within two years\nAdditional Eligibility Qualifications\nValid/Unrestricted driver license \nWork Authorization/Security Clearance\nMust be a US Citizen for Security Clearance requirements.\nAbility to obtain clearance from the Defense Security Service and other Federal Government Agencies.\nWork Environment\nPrimary work is performed in an office environment.\nField validations require trips to mechanical and electrical operating facilities and potentially active construction sites.\nPhysical Demands\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
