The candidate will have the opportunity to work on projects in a variety of market sectors, such as healthcare, science & technology, K-12, higher education, and commercial projects.\n Duties and Responsibilities:\nProvide engineering design, evaluation, and planning of mechanical systems for healthcare, science & technology, education, and commercial projects while supporting project teams through various phases of project development from concept design through construction.\nPerform heating and cooling load calculations and energy analysis with software such as Trace 700 or similar programs.\nWork with a senior engineer to perform field investigations, building surveys and documentation of existing HVAC systems and site conditions.\nDevelop system design calculations and selection of equipment for building HVAC systems.\nWrite and edit project specifications.\nPrepare detailed design documents, engineering reports, and technical studies while maintaining organized and accurate project documentation.\nPerform code compliance research and communicate design consideration to Engineer of Record (EOR), Design Lead, or Project Manager.\nCoordinate mechanical system design with other engineering disciplines, architects, and project stakeholders.\nProvide construction administration services including reviewing submittals, responding to contractor questions, performing punch/walk inspections, and supporting construction phase coordination.\nCommunicate effectively in both written and verbal formats with clients, contractors, and internal project teams to ensure alignment on design intent and project updates.\nSupport project teams in maintaining project schedules, deliverable quality, and resolution of technical issues with both internal team members and external partners.\nPerform project billable work and engineering responsibilities consistent with expected utilization goals while contributing to successful project delivery.\nFoster an environment where new ideas are discussed and developed collaboratively to create practical solutions to client challenges.\nQualifications and Experience:\nA minimum of 3-5 years of HVAC design experience.\nBachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited program.\nExperience with K-12/higher education/healthcare/life science design is preferred.\nWorking knowledge of the ASHRAE, ASME, NFPA, and NEC; with a preference for knowledge of the IBC, IMC, and IPC requirements.\nProficient in Bluebeam Revu, Revit, AutoCAD, and MS Office.\nFamiliarity with codes, standards, and design guidelines.\nExcellent work ethic and attitude.\nGood communication and time management skills.\nInterpersonal communication skills, combined with organizational skills, the ability to plan, balance, and prioritize work.\nLocation: New York City\nCompensation & Benefits:\nThe expected base salary range for this role is $100,000 - $115,000 USD per year.
