Our specialized experience includes design for data centers, healthcare, science and technology, high-rise buildings, clean energy, education, and other building types as well as structural and building sciences, infrastructure asset management, advanced robotics, and more.\nOur technical expertise is paired with an exceptional team of business development, human resources, finance and accounting, information technology, and marketing professionals, all of whom play a key role in bringing our commitments to life every day.\nJob Summary:\nWe are searching for a Mechanical Engineer in Training to assist in the design and preparation of mechanical building systems drawings.\nIn this role you will: you will have responsibility for assisting project teams with the design of mechanical systems for various building facilities including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, piping, plumbing, drainage, fire protection and other specialty systems. You will have responsibility for performing design calculations, selecting equipment, preparing mechanical drawings utilizing Revit, and designing layouts.\nYou will be a great fit if: you have an interest in pursuing a career in Building Design as a Mechanical Engineer in Training.\nSkills/abilities:\nUniversity Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on the following courses, HVAC, Fluid Dynamics, and Thermodynamics.\n1 - 2 years’ practical experience designing mechanical systems for commercial, institutional or industrial buildings.\nCertification or eligibility to register with PEO as an Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) is preferred.\nDemonstrated experience using AutoDesk Revit.\nWorking knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook/Word/Excel/PowerPoint).\nStrong written, verbal communication and presentation skills teamed with your ability to problem solve and make timely and well thought out decisions.\nAbility to work cohesively in a team-based environment.\nAbility to handle multiple concurrent projects, focused project schedules, and meet timelines.\nValid Ontario Driver's Licence and access to a vehicle.\nLocation: Toronto, Ontario, Canada - In-office position.\nTravel: 10 - 15% travel expected.\nEqual Opportunity Employment Statement\nSalas O’Brien provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, colour, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state/provincial, or local laws.
