They understand the steps and process to design a system and provide clear and coherent calculations and drawings. They can provide modeling and drafting direction and understand what the final product should look like.\nResponsibilities:\nPrepare structural calculations and construction documents that meet quality standardsDesign lateral and gravity systems in areas of technical proficiency\nProvide modeling and drafting direction\nQC own work\nProvide high level options for technical lead for areas that require direction\n\nDevelop and Execute Sprint Plan ActivitiesCreate and communicate plan of approach to PM\nUnderstand and document tasks to complete deliverable and estimate hours\nCommit and execute the plan, reconcile plan with project team as needed\nCommunicate early and often when roadblocks to the plan are identified\n\nManage CA Activities and report to Technical LeadMaintain and update CA Log\nCreate response to RFI’s for PM Approval\nReview shop drawing and present to PM\nElevate scope creep concerns\nPerform Site Visits\n\nCommunicate and manage Client CoordinationCommunicate with client independently through client meetings, phone call and email exchanges\nCoordinate drawing development with technical staff\nCommunicate updates to project team\n\nParticipate and execute Continuous Improvement ActivitiesSeek out and participate in continuing education\nParticipate in material groups; update and improve standards and best practices\nGrowing proficiency in material, market and project types\n\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s degree Required\nMS degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management (structural engineering preferred)\n3+ years of experience in the structural design of concrete, steel, masonry, and wood frame structures\nBenefits:\nGain invaluable industry experience and practical engineering skills.\nWork with a diverse team of professionals, fostering network opportunities.\nAccess to mentorship and guidance from experienced engineers.\nCompetitive compensation package.\nLocation: Remote\nTravel: Yes 10-15%\nEqual Opportunity Employment Statement\nSalas O’Brien provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state/provincial, or local laws.
